  1. Well we're here!!! Moved in on the 12th and feel like we've been here for years. The cul de sac we've moved into have all made us very welcome with flowers and cards. The Kids love their new schools so all is good. Have a great Christmas and many thanks to everyone for the help along the way !cheers!
  2. Thankyou Ayupmeducks!! For all you coal mining experts. This is what the results of our search stated. Coal Mining Search; In accordance with your instructions we have carried out a Coal Mining Search. We confirm that your search has revealed the following: The property is in the likely zone of influence from workings in 4 seams of coal at 360m to 630m depth, and last worked in 1991. Any ground movement from these coal workings should have stopped by now. The property is not in the likely zone of influence of any present underground coal workings. The property is not in an area for w
  3. Just a little update. The iccle chian of 3 proved to be too many and it all fell through. We sold again in September and hope to be in Forest Town by Christmas. p.s Note I haven't put a year next to Christmas but thats the pessimist in me.
  4. Thanks Caz We've had an offer accepted on a place just round the corner from Berry Hill. A lovely little cul de sac. Only 3 peeps in the chain so I too hope for some plain sailing.
  5. We've accepted an offer on ours so fingers crossed we'll be heading your way within 3 months. B)
  6. Bingham too? When we pop up I think we'll be staying in West Bridgford to get a feel as we've had a few people suggest thats a nice area.
  7. OK, we will be coming again in a couple of weeks and will be looking slightly further south towards West Brigford, Mapperley, Carlton areas. Any advice on these and surrounding areas? Thank you
  8. Thank you very musch indeed Ayupmeducks, you have been a great help. I'm on the ball to search for mines
  9. Thanks Rob. Isolation isn't a huge problem for us as we're currently in a similar area. Rainworth looks nice from Google Earth :D Time for another trip up there soon me thinks.
  10. OK, thanks for everyone for the help thus far. We've noted 2 very nice houses and wondered if anyone could offer any advice on the area in general. One is in Rainworth and the other slightly further out in Bilsthorpe. Much appreciated
  11. I think we've set our minds on Mansfield and surrounding areas as we have family there. Sorry and best of luck with the sale.
  12. From what I understand by a poster on another site, NO. He left a message on the NUM site appears his solicitor put him on to finding out where Cotgraves workings were and to get the info before committing himself. He's safe though, Cotgrave never went under Bingham. WOW, I must admit that surprises me. I will endeavour to do my own research when we do find a place we like. Thanks again
  13. Hi Caz, We're currently on the Isle of Wight. Yes I know we must be mad to move up North but we feel it's the right thing to do at the mo.
  14. Thanks for that info Ayupmeducks, defo worth checking out. I would have thought that any subsidence issues will be documented in the survey but yes better to be one step ahead of the game.
  15. Well we viewed 8 houses last weekend and I must say you have lots and lots of competiton up there which may be the reason houses are not selling so quickly. It is a slight concern however that Notts hasn't seen the same increases as other parts of the UK. Living in area where we are constantly matching or outperforming the national average, house buying here is a great investment. Nevertheless we still plan to do this move but maybe buy a cheaper place and keep enough back to do a buy to let on the IOW. p.s areas we viewed in were Mansfield woodhouse, Mansfield (Berry Hill area) and a cou
