For folk who would like to know how much we were paid___:::::: When I started hairdressing as an apprentice wages were £1 9/6 My mam had 10/- for board 9/6 was for bus

Person's great shop but when i first married and went into the Kitchen dept=ment to look at a fitted kitchen, the sales man ask me what I was looking at (their was a pull down slatted blind which I liked) at this blind was my reply. Sales man well if I were you I would not look any more as you won't be able to afford it. British customer service never changes!. NVQ1 to NVQ 5 Instead of having to cover all 12 Units and Elements for the City and Guilds the now have a choice which unit to take that they want to cover. eg 12 Units would cover every thing you would do in a salon from reception to customer service, Blow-drying to setting Barbering ect NOW you can just do Barbering /consultation and you pass ?? people at first did not like the NVQs but now it's all ch

Don't forget to oil them each time you have used them and to check the teeth and make sure that they are in the correct line before you use them. Now here's a story that I have never told. When we had our salon I employed a young man called Stuart he was clipper mad!!!! all of his clients who came in to have there hair trimmed all ended up with having clipper's grade no 2, up the back of there head from nape to ears, but he had the gift of the gab and the ladies just loved him.
