The Dungeon Club reunion group goes from strength to strength and now up to 150 people meet up regularly each month to reminisce about the 60s, Mods,, music, clothes, renew old friendships or make new ones and listen or dance to the music they first heard in the club.
Last year it was decided that a band should be formed out of the membership to play that music. Dungeon Daze was formed, playing the music heard in the club and has gone on to perform at various establishments around Nottingham incuding some well-known haunts of the past:
- at Parkas at both the Boat Club and the Brit,
- at Cotgrave Welfare supporting a blast from the past, Jimmy James & the Vagabonds,
- and earlier at Saltbox where we held a birthday party for the many Dungeon members who were born in 1949 and yes this year they were all 70 years young (and they're still dancing the night away).
We would like to make people aware of our news and schedule (including any gigs coming up in the near future).
We are setting up a new news service, sent to you on a regular basis, initially as an e-mail.
To be added to our mailing list, please send your name and e-mail address to us. This can be through:
- e-mail - dungeondazeband@gmail.com
- messenger - m.me/dungeondaze
Please pass this information on to your friends who are not on social media.
Those on Facebook can like our page 'Dungeon Daze' to keep up to date,
Hope to see some of you at a future gig.
Maurice

Hi everyone. Hippo Girl and I have set up a new group on Facebook to gather information about the clubs of Nottingham. I know there is much info on these pages and I have been looking through it, but I thought I would let you know and if anyone wants to help, you can join the group. It is called 'Scene Before in Nottingham'. Cheers Maurice

I have a Carlsbro Marlin amplifier somewhere but no documentation. I don't know the number but I think it has 6 channels and output is 300 watts. I connect it to a pair of Carlsbro speakers (150 watts each) which are very heavy as each cabinet contains 2 x 12 inch speakers. I have not used this set up for many years, but remember getting the amp fixed at some stage at the Music Inn. I could do with getting rid of all this some time but didn't know if there was still a market for it.

I think it was Keith ....was his surname Wright ?
The names I remember were Norma, Vivienne and Paddy Dean ( west bridgford ) Alan Hickman ,Sandra Aram ( think they use to dance together, Sandra from Aspley, Alan Hucknall or Bulwell ).......the rest will come to me later ......the lady that made the skating dresses lived up bluebell hill road st Ann's .......
Correct, Chrissie, it was Keith Wright - the photo had become detached from its page in the album, where it had his name. Norma, Vivienne and Paddy are all on the photos, but she doesn't remember Alan and Sandra.

Hi Moz,
Reading Micky's blog bought back so many memories.....I had lessons with Monty Redhead until my love of athletics led me to train at Harvey Hadden stadium ...Recognise a lot of people on those photos including Norma Bowmar ........think she lived at Underwood ?
Micky confirms that Norma lived at Underwood - as she went over there for tea. She doesn't remember everyone's names - can you help please. For example, on the picture with Monty Readhead, there is Norma and Micky, do you know the young man's name - she thinks it might be Keith and she thinks he was a hairdresser.

In case anyone has not seen this, Micky went back on the ice for the first time for over 40 years to make a video for a song she wrote which was recorded by our band. She wore the same boots that she had worn as a young girl. By the way, the second time she went on the ice, she broke her arm!
