    There was another Spread Eagle on Alfreton Road, it's now Conrads lap dancing club. My mother in law worked in the one on Goldsmith st, i'll see what she can remember.

    Sorry Firbeck, i read it as the grotty pub was at Colwick woods. If you go on Google street view Carlton hill looks a likely candidate for the view of the painting.

    Take a look at the thread "The unloved". Mick was asking where the pic was taken from.The grotty pub must have been Inn on the hill, ex Greenwood tree on Greenwood Road.

    Can you still get Tripe or Cow heel? My father in law used to eat Tripe after it had been boiled in milk, it looked disgusting.
