  2. Hi RWK i lived at no 24 at the top of the alley about 1972 -1974. I don't remember the Quorton family. The only big family i remember were the Hibberts, who had 5 girls.
  3. I went to the same place as Mick, Trent school of Motoring on Arkwright St. They were near the railway bridge and used to share a telephone with a motorbike repair shop next door.
  4. He was a "nut case" so was his sister, Pillow.
  5. I went to Peoples too in early seventies doing electronics. The only thing i can remember was trying to work out the value of a resister using the colour coded bands, that came in handy. RWK i used to live on Stoneacre at Bestwood Park. did you ever go in the Cavalier?
  6. I worked for NCT from 1979 until 1995 at Sherwood and Parliament St.

  12. I can remember an incident in the wash house possibly mid sixties, possibly the same one as Bryceclare remembers. A woman had her arm badly mangled or ripped off. We used to be taught swimming at Portland baths by a little bloke called Mr Brooks.

  15. That sounds familiar, it might have been near Mayfield Grove off Kirkwhite St.
  16. The one at Matlock, i remember seeing it from Riber Castle, mid sixties.
  17. That would have been the Adelphi. It's now a KFC, i reckon it closed around 1979.
  18. I remember a cafe opposite the Meadow Inn, in it was an Expresso Coffee machine and a one armed bandit machine, not much else. The only antique shop i can remember was Scurrs on the corner of Muskham St, their daughter Liz married a mate of mine.
  19. On the right hand side that would be Blacknells, next to the Meadow inn. Brealey smith were on the same side closer to Trent bridge and i'm sure i saw little Nell the helicopter used in you only live twice Bond film in their window. The Junk shop could have been on the corner of Radcliffe St.
  20. That's Raleigh Street. The white building on the left used to be an Irish pub, Alfreton Road can be seen at the top.

  22. Not heard of Pork pie breakfast before. A mate of mine the other day mentioned something being on the Dog shelf, apparently the Dog shelf is the floor, he reckons it's a well known Nottm saying.
