I think the power for the trolley buses used to come from a place between the Huntigdon St bus station and the dance/bingo hall on St Annes well Road. Den.

The xylophone man died about 2 years ago, there is a plaque with his name on i think it's outside Marks and Spencers. The one with the 'bob' had a job as a "checkout girl" in a supermarket in Vic centre. This was early seventies when you could advertise for female staff only, i don't know how he fooled them. Den.

Could Mariag be Maria G. A good case for updating your profile.

Went by there yesterday and it is still an amusement arcade with the original curved windows. I also walked through West end arcade, opposite the library and comes out on Parliament St, what a dump of an arcade. Den.

It's the "rainbow gay friendly flag". Is someone in the council house trying to tell us something?

The landlady had got big nibbles on the bar. Hot sausages, pizza slices, cheese, crackers, crisps and others, no need to buy a meal. Den.

I was working in Lambley today so when i finished i called in at the Woodlark. It was quite busy at 5.45 which was surprising, maybe it was the free food on the bar. 1 pint of HP and a pint of lager shandy was £5.03, not cheap but it is a nice pub. Den.

It's a bit blurred Mick but is that a Picasso in front of that speed camera?

Hi Rog. Yes i did see Thorpe camp as i drove past, is that a BAC Lightning at the gate?
-
Hi Charlie, i went on a computer course on Chapel bar, it was above a shop and run by a company called IT World. Could this be the same course as yours? Den.

I went to Skeggy at the weekend and thought i would call in at the Blue bell on the way. It was closed, shut between 3 and 7. Have you been in there yet Rog?

When i was down the Meadows i lived next door to a caretaker from Trent Bridge school. His name was Ken Wright and he used to ride a Raleigh moped. Does that sound familiar Mick?

In 1978 i worked for MMD and Fonacar taxis. We used to take home a lot of staff from the pubs and clubs, Heart of the Midlands, Shades, Society club and the Flying horse are some of the regular ones i can remember. I don't remember any names though, even the faces are a blur, must be my age. Theatre Royal was also a regular, Tommy Cooper, The Nolan Sisters, Arthur Askey and Danny la rue are some of the people i drove.

In 1978 it was known as Shades, Still a gay club.

That's right, the LD had two separate seats the front one with a big handle for the pillion to hold on to. The light was fixed to the body. I cant remember the spare wheel though, maybe mine was missing. It only had three gears and i paid five quid for it off a mate.
