Just seen a request from former pupils requesting that a road be named after him on the former school site,report post 2013,I only went to seniors but met mr smith when we did a meadows clear up ,cleari.g rubbish from entries in the back to back meadows mr smith and albert whitehead turned up every saturday morning along with a bin wagon to try and put a pride back into the meadows. Does anyone know if a road was named after him,I think he deserved it any one that gives their spare time to a community the served deserves respect.

Unfortunately he dont know , he worked over christmas and managed to Complete a 60 page chunk ,he works full time ,and has had to sift through masses of images and paperwork that were the historic info from hovringham gravels,it should not be too long now and I will of course post it when its out,I am sure it will be of interest to all different topics,like trasnsport ,local history etc,I will let you know bubblewrap.
