I remember as a kid in the early 1960's how quiet they were (and clean) but I also remember them coming of the wire and the guys having to use that big pole to hook them back up to the power

My Mothers maiden name was Spridgeon, she was born in Sneinton in 1933 her fathers name was Albert & Mother Alice, she had sisters Hilda, Joan, Doris, Phyllis, & Brothers Albert & John. Its quite an unusual name there seems to be quite a few in the Northampton area and in the USA

I left Nottingham in 1974, and will be coming back for a visit in August, from what I have seen on the internet machine, the city looks very much like it did back then apart from the wonderful trams you have now
