  1. Carni, Vodaphone are terrible. sorry you couldn't get a signal. I couldn't either my phone wouldn't work. unless I stood on a hill in my village, practically standing up on my head, with my arm stuck out at a 45 degree angle and holding my breath. So much for the glossy ad's. Reminds me of the good old days, a bit like a harry Worth sketch, with a portable indoor areil, having to be a contortionist to get a signal. De Da.

  8. I was just going to say,the colored dial phones, are very sort after today. People like retro style, designers, students. period interior's. retro shops. ect. They produce replicas today. Ever see bakerlight telephones on carboots. the colors to look out for are, White, valuable, red very valuable, Green, take everyone on here for a meal. if your not sure about bakerlite. It will be heavy feel cold like stone to touch. The 300 series with receiver and long body with dial, was designed by the King of Sweden, in the late 30's. The pyramid phone are more valuable. sometimes these phones had a l
  9. That trimphone could fetch a bob or two. the leather cased ones are rare. Look out for them on carboot sales, 60's 70's dial phones too.the blue, green, red and black one are the ones to look out for. V My collection was featured in Millers collectibles guide books. 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. I valued them too Don't know what Beef steak was on about?. I think the phone you have Cliff as far as I can remember, is an Ambassador. Unusual to get a white one, they were mainly beige or mustard color. They made tings to last in those days.

  21. Talking about The Chinese industrial revaluation. Chairman Mow, translated as 'Cat'. commanded every village and town to produce steel, it was a complete failure. the steel was very poor quality.. Not like Sheffield steel. Another command was to kill wild birds, to stop them eating crops. people would shout and wave things to scare birds, until they fell from the sky dieing from exhaustion. Nice watches. If I was still selling on ebay, I buy and sell them for £20. D Da.
  22. What a bargain. I used to collect and renovate old telephones. my house is like a museum. you have what is commonly known as a candlestick. the holder of the bell shaped receiver, usually had two lugs, sometimes solid ones, sometimes loops, so a lock could be fitted, to stop servants using the phone without permission. Have a look out for old trim phones, from the late 60's 70's. collectors items. Millions were scrapped. they have a radio active dial. I woke up one morni g to see one glowing in the dark. but you would have to have a lot to have any adverse affects. De Da.
