  1. AYUP, Ayup, Have you tried the new movie 25 addon yet, its brilliant. All the latest BAFTA Nominations incl. Gravity. Last Vagas, The wolf of Wall Street etc. not on dvd or in cinemas here some of them.
  2. My memories of the El T are from its origins, along with the normal electrical installation that one would expect for that type of premises there were hidden Microphones all over the place so the strange person who owned it could listen to what people were saying about him. This guy also owned a car who's previous owner was I believe Mussolini, there was a report in the Nottm Post regarding the car.
  3. Now we are playing with words :- Should anyone be looking for sympathy, try the dictionary, its between Symphony & Syphilis, or so I was told. Have you got your Lexicon out?
  4. I confess to being a numbers nut. Having just entered the date on a form as 10/12/13, (it could have been 10 12 13 in boxes), it occurred to me that since the year 2003 we have at some point in the year had sequential numbers in the date i.e. 01/02/03 and that after tomorrow 11/12/13 we will not have this occur again until it is 01/02/03 in 90 years & 52 days time.
  5. Carl, our own Carlton Lad has done well tonight by retaining his titles, things didn't look good for him in any round up to him prevailing as the ref stopped him punishing Grove. As Carl himself said he had got free shots at his opponents at the end and serious damage could have been done if the ref had not stepped in. Well done Carl.

  8. Have just got the latest updates to xbmc sorted, any video searched & streaming inside 30 secs. including some pre retail stuff THEN along comes a high court judgement instructing British ISP's to Block Streaming. Most of the good stuff has now already gone and the rest to follow. Maybe there is a way around it but for now it seems too many were enjoying free fun & learning.
  9. One of the things I failed to mention in post 123# was that most of the 'Fothergill' buildings in the town, according to my old boss were designed by Fothergill Watson and he believed the first one he built under his change of name was at the time his offices on Clinton street were demolished & his new one was built on George Street.

  12. Mick, I shall PM you when I get home
  13. Mick, I see you are having a go, be assured it will get easier, but at first it can be confusing but later with use it is very user friendly. Having done what you have, have you loaded 'fusion'. Also, when you click the icon to start xbmc what appears first on screen, does it say 'wizard edition' then immediately change to a 'Bar' across with Videos in the centre & Files & add-ons underneath it. If so, click on add-ons and say what you see there.
  14. Named after John Thackery, Grandson of Joseph Thackery of the Lace Manufacturing Trade. Joseph came to Nottingham from Manchester to start business due to a spat on Machine Breaking in Lancashire, 1870's. The business past from father to son etc.. His Grandson John built Forest Mills in Radford in 1840 which closed in 1950 which was about the time many Nottingham Lace Manufacturers shut up shop. After the Great Exhibition of 1851 where international recognition of his product came from attaining Gold Medals John took on a Partner, Thomas Hickling. This partnership lasted until 1870 when Thacke
  15. Alan Rose post 23# of this topic brought back some memories. About the time Alan started work at Elastic Yarns my Dad's best mate, Eric Cook, also worked there. He was a driver/chauffeur there. My memories are of him bringing lots of large Machinery packing cases to my home from the Daybrook factory I believe, after a factory refurb. I would have been about 12 at the time. I made a large shed out of 4 x 2 and the packing case sides, about 12ft by 10ft with a flat sloping roof. When I fitted the roof I was so unset that it began to sag as I fitted the roof panels. Dad sorted my though, it onl
  16. That's brought back a few memories Jigsaw. I went to the bowl virtually from when AMF opened it. It must have been early 60's I believe. I remember Connie in the bar and the name Syd Vaughan, I believe he was the original Manager, Bill Bingham was his assistant, a fine bowler himself, he played with Billy Grimes, Billy Grinsall, Linsey Scorer, Ron Sheppard & I believe Billy Firth in a Five Man Team called The Panthers sponsored by Reg King the Bookmaker who also sponsored the Panthers Ice Hockey Team. Shortly after Fred came along on the door, he came from Ilkeston, quite a character. Anot
  17. Ayupmeduck, I hear everything you say about the MX Box/G Box and it only costs $US126 total for the ADDITIONAL remote, (You do have to use two don't you?) I suppose I have overlooked a bog standard monitor on a PC, maybe because I have the same problem as you with the eyes, and have been using a Fujitsu Siemens HD Monitor for the last four years. That being said, I am sure you must agree as you have already said in a previous post, these units cost over twice the amount over here, (Best available here is £130 for both), is more difficult to set up without the additional mini keyboard your
  18. I still cannot see the point of set top boxes on TV when you can download XBMCHUB.COM direct onto your Windows PC for nothing. There are fewer bugs this way than with Android Devices. The latest 5th October release by the XBMC Team to factory restore the 12.2 Frodo version, RESETTING XBMC TO A CLEAN STATE AND SUPERCONFIGURE IT WITH THE NEW WIZARD IN 5 MINUTES. Its Amazing. This being done you have all the ADDONS you will need already configured. The one thing you need to avoid in imposter XBMC Sites, just log in to and you are safe. Go to Downloads, there you will find eight
  19. Congratulations Lizzie & Bubblewrap
  20. There was land in the area owned by three families, Staples, Blyth & Quernaby You will find streets named after all of the families in close proximity, namely, Querneby Road, Blyth Street, Staples Street.
  21. My favourite one from Dad was, at Bedtime, "Come on then, up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire".
  22. Hi Ashley, Not seen it on the TV recently but I did notice it on XMBC, either Ice Film or 1 Channel I believe, often you get a choice of language in subtitles there. If you need to know more, PM Me.
  23. Carni, Do you remember your LOCAL Milkman, Mr. Leach, next to the school, & Beryl his delivery girl, she was a brilliant footballer. While we are doing do you remember, how about Roy Skellington the barber & Sunday School Teacher, he in still working delivering the church mag at 91years, slowed up a bit now though.
