  1. I wonder if any historians out there could help solve a problem for me  I watched a program on stonehenge on tv They claimed to have found the final solution They claimed it was built to mark the solstice where they feasted and buried the bones of their ancestors  They claimed that they came from all over the country as far as scotland  What on earth did they use as a time reference To set off from Scotland only to arrive and the guy on the gate says you should have been here yesterday pal it were great  To have built on such an enormous scale if it was just a calendar does not seem right  Oh and before some wag sends in about being the base for a mobile mast they didnt have any pockets to put the phone in  meeowed

  2. Vera never fitted in at the strathdon she would walk between the tables then you would receive a smart blow to the back of your head  she would remark that was for nothing just wait until you do something  I last saw her many years ago at sneinton market with a carrier bag going round the stalls I was told she had an altercation with one of the william youngers management and she was gone shortly afterwards we will never see her like again meeowed

  3. The Albert was a legend with Vera I have seen her get a paddy on his knees clearing up a drink spillage We used to go over at lunch time when I worked at chapel bar garage The apprentice got kahlide on vodka  When we took him back to work his legs seemed to be independent to his body so we put him the back of a van to sleep it off  A bit later we heard a motorcycle strike up on rushing outside we were met with the site of a norton jubilee on its side going round and round on the foot rest with him on it smoke pouring from the wheel I dragged him off it Then later on I had the dubious pleasure of having to take him home on it it was like riding with a muppet on the back  I think it cured him he never went near vera again  meeowed

  4. A friend of mine used to drive the notts and derby trolley buses he had a sample of the overhead lines it was half round solid copper rod with a slit either side for the clips that held it up  went into  He did tell me how much it weighed per mile  I can only remember it was a lot they had a sort of slipper that ran on it not wheels like the corporation There is still a last trolley bus post on Nottingham road just up from gregory blvd island before you get to Berridge road  As a young kid i got as far as moorgreen on one with the rest of the kids from our street only to get a tanning from my dad who had been all over on his bike looking for me no supper that night  meeowed

  5. Has anyone had dealings with Virgin media trying to terminate my contract for broadband appalling customer service countless attempts to get a human being on the line finally got through to head office only to be passed back to robotic numbnut I visited vic centre only to be met by the same robotic individual who informed me that I would have debt collectors at my door if I stopped direct debit After three price rises in 18 months I was paying £46 just for basic broadband nothing else I have now had to resort to a formal letter of termination by a lawyer  This company must have the most worthless customer service on the planet I wouldnt have virgin if they were giving £20 notes with it  meeowed

  6. I have just been to the new memorial on the enbankment and the workmen were brilliant one went to check if my grandfather was on and came back with it on his phone I would like to thank everyone who helped me on this quest  My father never knew there was a grave I found that at arrass and i was the first of the family to visit he was a gunner in the RHA and was killed 1918 he only had a few months to go  The workmen said it should be open in about the end of the month  This means so much to surviving members of the family he was not recorded on any memorial here he was born in Radford and the church was demolished and the memorial lost I wish my father could have seen it but i can rest now i have achieved my quest  once again thanks to everyone meeowed

  7. Look at parliament street since they banned cars its twice as bad now with endless lines of buses when you think the average worker works one week a month for nothing with taxation to keep our representatives in the style to which they have been accustomed  We are the only employers who have no control over what we pay our employees They are clearly above the law We could do with another Cromwell  meeowed
