  1. There is a little Waitrose on Milton Street in Nottm. but they don't carry much stock. Certainly no Sandemann
  2. If I wish to go to Waitrose, just for a bottle of Sandemann port (can't find any other reason to go to Waitrose) for me at Eastwood its a trip to either Newark or Buxton.
  3. I've never tried Marmite. I am not inclined to spend money on a jar either in case I find myself in the hate it camp.
  4. I am trying to find out what buses Nottingham City Transport had in the 1930's. I was a bit surprised to find that, according to this list: https://members.tripod.com/~notts_derby/hnct.html it didn't have any motor buses until 1953, only trolleybuses. Is this information correct?
  5. Yes I realise that a wooden frame piano would float. It was just the very thought of it happening!
  6. Now that's something I have never seen before - a piano floating!
  7. I am also hypothyroid and must agree with what you say. I am (or should be) on statins, but as a result of doing my own research I find that you should not take statins with an underactive thyroid. I have found this information on the NHS website no less! I guess the GP's don't read it! I have to book for a blood test in the next few weeks and as well as thyroid function they will check for cholesterol as well. This will of course reveal that I have not been taking the statins. Not sure which way to go with it at the moment.
  8. Surely what they look like depends upon which coachworks bodied them. Although Leyland may have done some themselves.
  9. I've got one of those. A little smaller than than yours as mine doesn't have the hose reel on it. Well pleased with it. I bought Nilfisk because of previous bad experience with Karcher, continually leaking and then finally splitting altogether. And it wasn't very old.
  10. I have actually found that there is more to go into Ilkeston for than there is to go into Nottingham.
  11. Its owned by Hull in this picture above together with 35 others. It is owned by Sandtoft museum now. That's answered my own questions. Here's is what it should look like. This is the one at Ruddington. My photo:
  12. This turned up on my Facebook feed this morning. This photo was taken at Sandtoft in 1981. OTV 137 is now preserved in NCT colours, I don't know where. It is not the one at Ruddington. In this photo it is in use as a driver training vehicle for someone up north.
  13. Greggs sausage rolls are excellent. I reckon they are one of the best items they produce. Now you've got me wanting one
  14. Standard Greggs sausage roll is about twice the length of that one for £1. I am led to believe that Australian sausages are pretty bad, so would that include sausage meat?
  15. Yes Poundland are supposed to be having the Kimberley Wilko. Went to Kimberley Sainsburys today and looked across at Wilko's old shop and it has 'To Let' notices outside. Surely if Poundland's were taking Wilko shops over that wouldn't be necessary?
  16. Hope you put a piano in one of the houses!
  17. I don't need a car while I am down there. There are parking meters everywhere as well. Nottingham Broad Marsh to Southsea Clarence Pier (via London Victoria) is currently coming up at £22.60 return! I haven't driven a car since June 2022 - I'm not sure why I need one. The only plus to a car is convenience. As for the expense
  18. I'm just wondering if this Indian summer is going to happen next month. I fancy another fix at Portsmouth and sunny Southsea. The digs are cheap out of season and National Express is coming up at £23.60 return.
  19. My favourite motorway junction is the one that gets me off the motorway!
  20. I think Keep one, drop one is the problem. That's all I have seen today when I've checked in, so I have kept away.
  21. So far as I am aware it is. Not been down that area for quite a while. I prefer to keep away!
