Bad news for me. Missus just told me we on a cruise on May 25th and that is Cup Final day (Reds are still in the cup). I never wanted to cruise in the first place.

I remember the bad one in the early 60's In Annesley we sledged down the Church Hill and made slides on the school hill. Bad winter ? it was brilliant as a kid. Power cuts , roaring coal fires, and the skin on the rice puddings made in the coal fire oven. Oh and the 'hot-aches'

We were in the Newmarket having a quick one before the Tom Jones concert and across the road they were queuing like mad to get in the Pryzm ([Palais). Told the young barman we were waiting for the queue to go down. He looked bemused and gave a nervous laugh,

Big thanks to Stevie Cooper . Got us from the bottom of the Championship to the Premier League and survived the first season. Great time at Wembley in between. He will always be a legend in the history of Forest for me (a supporter for over 60 years).

I see the tree has gone up in the Market Square. October 30th is this a record. Time to get the Easter Eggs in now.

Yes I thought we'd got a reasonable score and took an early wicket. They looked good at the start then I got my Granddaughter from school got back home and bang its over. Hope the Reds can do the same tomorrow.

In the East Midlands some of the seams were known by the name of where they outcropped ie Tupton, m(Low Main ) and probably Brinsley . Not sure how Waterloo and Hazle got their names . We were told that the coal went deeper to the east and there was coal measures to last a hundred or more years . The plan was to win the coal then sink new shaft and so on. That didn't happen and we were on the dole

In my humble opinion Boyes, Wilkos , B&M and all the other just buy cheap imports from China like the rest and push up the prices when the BBC causes panic. (plant pots are in shortage because the Brazilian petroleum workers are on an overtime ban etc etc etc LOL) Seriuously. I do feel sorry for the staff but when the pits closed I had to rethink about my career and life. Friday morning rant over . Have a good weekend

Love the NHS. Had a bit of a problem and rang 111 they told me to go straight to A & E. Waited 3 hours for the bloke to tell em to see my doctor in the morning. I was a step ahead and took a sample of you know what and the Doctor said I should ride the problem out and ignored a rash I had. Missed out I had shingles as well which the missus spotted straight away. So now I use my wife as my GP but she wont sign me a sick note !!!!!!

More or less stopped listening when Dennis MaCarthy died and only have it on for Sport. My Notts County workmate called it Radio Forest

My first X Ray for the Coal Board was near Babbington Pit (1971) on my medical before starting at the Training Centre. Is that the one you refer to at Bulwell ?
-
I was there from 88 to closure under British Coal, I remember an X Ray in a mobile unit in the car park. My last one maybe in the early 90's. I was satisfactory and later had one for Pneumoconiosis ?? (dustlol) and they said I had lungs of a man ten years younger so 22 years underground I am lucky.

Ailments, Aches & Pains. (Let's hear them here)
Annesley Red replied to FLY2's topic in Owt' Abaaht Nowt !
Thanks Jill and Margie. The pain went for 90 minutes when the Reds won and secured Prem football but I've still got a feeling sunburn after over a week of it. You can't take anything for it but I id try beer at the weekend , that helped lol
