  1. Well its been nearly 3 years since I moved to nottingham, ended up in the sherwood area, and absolutely love it, still commuting to hull and that aint to bad , seem to time it so traffic aint to bad. But!!!!! After 3 years ive decided , nottingham people are the worst drivers in the country. Mansfield road! Yeh its busy, it as a couple of congestion lanes that narrow into 1 lane after a short distance, I get that, but what I dont get , is when its not busy , why does everyone go in the outside lane? Kills me, everone surely knows the lane merges back to one, what makes it worst, is them same
  2. Ha thanks people, I do actually live about 20 mile out of hull towards the east coast now, but I am hull born and bread, hull city centre is a complete joke to be honest! And the thought of moving back in to hull just doesn't appeal to me at all, but leaving the country bumpkin life and living somewhere a little busier does, and with the wife getting the new job in nottingham, it's a perfect opportunity, I'd also like to think we're giving the kids better opportunities living more central England, only thing I'll miss, is my rugby league, but it's not to far and should still hopefully make gam
  3. Yeh like Radcliffe on Trent area, still an option, just finding the right house, the house in Carlton ticks alot of boxes
  4. She might on occasion need her car for her job
  5. The wife's been staying in derby, been taking her 2 hours somedays to get to work! So I think she really needs to be in notts, and to be honest I don't mind a lively place, just want to be somewhere the people are friendly and I can go out without looking over my shoulder all the time, thank you for your reply though
  6. Thanks for all replies, keep them coming, morrisons in neatherfield, that as to be a plus? What's neatherfield as a place, it seems pretty close to Carlton
  7. Thanks for that appreciate your time, one last question, I know nottingham is very multi-coultural , what would you say the make up of Carlton is, sorry if I don't sound completely pc in this pc mad world, but it's for no reason other than my curiosity
  8. Thanks for that, does the fish and chip shop do deliveries, not good, yeh must admit, not getting much for your money in west bridgford, and with 3 kids ,need the room, would taking the wife to the local pubs be a traumatic experience
  9. Thanks for that, more looking north of center due to myself having to commute back to hull a few days a week
  10. Yes been to Nottingham a few times, nights out and over the recent months to look at different area, liked bingham, but to much of trek in to Nottingham during rush hours, like mapperley, west bridgford, and parts of sherwood, can't find much on Carlton , done the google earth stuff on Carlton looks ok, but the house we've seen we really like the look off, and the local primary school as good reports, the opposite end to where the house is on Conway road looks a little council estate ish, any feedback would be appreciated
  11. Hi, trying to do some research on Carlton in Nottingham, with not much look, wife as a new job in Nottingham, so looking for a place to live, we've 3 children so it's a massive decision on the new location, we've seen a house in Carlton was hoping somebody could give us some feedback on the place, pros and cons .
