  2. i STILL HAVE a couple of 'Silk hankerchiefs' and wear them when on certain jobs,thinking i look the 'Dogs',but was recently brought back to reality by a bunch of mature ladies,who amid much laughter,told me i looked like 'Mad Frankie Fraser',all my G.Clooney illusions were well shattered, 'cheeky gits'

It still is 'Bomber' ,been in this morning wet and miserable weather but Bulwell very busy, car parks mostly full,shops all busy,market thriving,Church group setting up under a canvass with musical instruments,whilst a blind lady was giving Oration about the meaning of 'Easter' looked on by a crowd of about 50,plus lots of 'ey ups' from old friends...........Made me happy anyway.

Don't know the names you mention Robbie,i did Co-ops in the 90s and early 2,ooos,then again i would'nt remember names because we'd do a blitz on them for a couple of days,then perhaps not go back for 6 months,............loved working Co-ops great times and people,worked VG stores nationally in the 70s also good times with lots of happy people,if you read this Margie,used to stay at the Lamb in Ely when doing VG Stores,the one i recall was at Sutton owned by a mr Painter.

AH but Graham every afternoon they cheer us up with ADS telling us what to do with us money afore we pop us cloggs,one even offers a free pen, as Del-boy would say,.................'.bladdy need that don't we,cheeky mares' Plus ads for 'step in baths' ......Chairs that stand you up,.......who to contact to make a will.........etc,etc, Really warms the 'cockles of your heart' don't it.

  14. sainsburys was a VG store in the 70s,owned by John Beaumont,who also had a store in Cotgrave,i think John was originally a Farmer in Cotgrave,i remember playing Cricket against him 60s/70s.

Some great posts following Darkazanas and FLY2s,quite a 'Soppy lot' really ain't we,lol.but i draw the line at a group hug Margie,i reckon the 'forum' is more harminous now despite varying tastes,we all have different fav.topics i enjoy most not all,but most of all i love them interlaced with humour,i even reckon FLY2 almost accepts GC and Tie wearing (almost lol). I MUST start listening to more music,in the car i'm permantently tuned in to radio 4,but when i switched on at 5am this morning the wife went out last night and it was still on a music channel,and i got 'Light my fire' by Lulu followed by 'when will i see you again' by the 'three degrees',great songs which put me in a great mood,even that early.
