  1. Lovely sentimental song from that great year of exploring our wonderful world.......1960.......... First trip to Locarno....... Skinned my first Cheese.. Boned my first side of Bacon..... First Pint in a Pub...(in town) Very first Winkle Pickers... First Grand-Parent to pass-away... Fell in love several times.... I could go on......
  2. Brew the point i was trying to make (but not very well).....is why the civilised world (so called) doesnt band together..IE thru the UN and just use its military power to halt all these exstreamist..... I'm not against Jews i'm in favour of freedom for all..........I must admit i am a News fanatic......and my favourite news channel is ''Aljazeera'' which to me is the most honest............its almost 24 hour coverage of the Israel/Gaza situation...and although it greatly upsets me it does show quite Graphically the plight of the children......and i dont see how anyo
  3. I can't believe that in this year of 2023...that supposedly civilised countries accept what Israel are doing to the poor children in 'Gaza' and the west bank....its unbelievable that the '''Palestinians''' after over 70 years still have very few rights.... Yes 'Hamas' are truly a sick terrorist organisation that need wiping off the face of the Earth......but the 'Israelis'' are killing Hundreds every day...and think its moral to kill innocent People.......In my opinion a ''Two State'' solution is the only answer........
  4. Marsdens was where Shoezone'' is on the photo........next to the alley .....and in my day 'Fine Fare'' was next door...........i think the original photo was taken in the 50s........

  15. Where would we be without Music.hey Lizzie....my love of it started in the 50s.......listening to Mam and all her sisters........then came Elvis..Cliff and all the American stars....Sport and music were my two great loves...along with Girls and Dancing......amazing how we all recall the words from songs of more than 60 years ago.......life just wouldnt have been the same without Song and Dance........ Now pushing 80.....i still play my music for at least an hour most days...to say nowt of a little ''JIG'' around the room..... Oh what i'd give for one more Tuesday

  19. This is very true Kev............i find that even health workers in many cases just know nothing about 'Laryengectomees'' the scariest thing is they dont realise i'm a Neck-Breather......
  20. Wife tried to sort my prescriptions out today.......at the Doctors...something she has done for 5 years (since my Larengectomy )....our doc's have always been excellent,, however today was somewhat different......... They insisted they couldn't discuss this with her...... which i find crazy... They told her to get me to ring them.....a Laryengectomee cannot speak without an aid fitted and trying to talk on the phone and be understood is practically impossible......which the wife informed them of........ Next came the suggestion i send them a letter.......
