  1. Is there anyone on here can give me a clue to the whereabouts of Simon Travis. He is an old school pal of mine but I have lost touch. He is a former pupil of Westdale Lane and Haddon Primary. He attended Gedling Comp from 1979 to 1984. He has 2 sisters who are called Iris and Andrea. The family lived on Cavemish avenue in Gedling. The last I heard of Simon he was living in the Bakersfield area of Nottingham, but that's about 20 years ago now.
  2. My dad and his girlfriend worked in the Miltons Head for a while in the mid eighties and I was able to get served under age due to this. Whilst at Bath street collage every Friday I would go and get a couple of pints off me dad. Does anyone on here remember a restaurant called The Golden Egg on parliament street in the mid 70s?
  3. I remember a club called Easy Street. It was in some sort of courtyard near Victoria Centre I think. There was a bar called Vogons just a few yards from the club where we would have a few before going to easy street. This would be around 1984/85.
  4. I started at Westdale lane infants in 1972. The school had 2 sets of wooden huts, one for infants and one for 1st year juniors. I stayed at Westdale until 1976 then moved to the newly built Haddon Primary on Haddon Close. Mr Murphy was the headmaster there and he was a firm but fair bloke.Went back to visit the school on its 25th anniversary and was given a guided tour by the headmistress, which was brilliant.
  5. Hi all thanks for the welcome. Already addicted to this site. I have a picture on my FB page of the old pub sign but it might not be appropriate to post it these days. Some of the topics and pictures on here have brought memories flooding back.
  6. There was a company called Lonsdale and bartholamew back in the 70s that my dad was a delivery driver for. I think they did posters for British rail as my dad drove to London every day delivering to stations
  7. I was a member of the 4th Carlton ( St. Paul's own) scouts. Remember going up to Scotland one year for summer camp. Think it was Auchengillan. Also played in the band. Great days
  8. Hi everyone. Just found this site and think its brilliant. I lived in Carlton and Netherfield as a child during the seventies and eighties and you may have guessed I lived at the blacks head in Carlton for a while. I went to westdale lane infants and then to Haddon primary when they built it followed by Frank Wheldon
