  6. Programme on BBC2 tonight (Saturday July 1st) at 9pm looks back to when TV started and the effect on the public. I'm sure it will bring back memories to most of us.

    telly adverts

    There are quite a number of ads on T.V. that I find annoying but the most annoying at the moment is the one about p.p.i. Any you find annoying?
  10. The above is a new documentary series starting on channel More4 tomorrow (Tuesday 13th June) at 10pm. It's got a recommendation in the Radio Times and could be of interest to a lot of members on the forum. I don't think it is serious all the time.

    I can't understand why on certain products it states they should be kept in a fridge but when you buy them that aren't in any cool place - just on the normal shelves. Things such as eggs and some fruit like grapes. Is there any 'normal thing' that you find no reason for?
  13. I remember from my teens there were lots of adverts for pen friends or pen pals. I assume these have all disappeared now with the internet. I recall having 2 pen friends - one in Holland and another in the U.S.A.

  22. Totally agree with you Chulla, I always think that poems should rhyme. Rhyming takes more thought, creativity and time to write.
  23. Just a reminder the paper £5 note ceases to be legal tender after May 5th so if you've got any hidden under your bed or, in a savings box (especially children's one's) then get them spent or banked by 5th May.
  24. Hi Margie,, No I'm not a rapper by any means. Glad you like it. I wrote it some years ago for a nurse I used to talk to everyday on the bus. Here's another about nurses I wrote..
