Yes I lived in Radford on the then Boden street near the bottom, Then you went on to denman street, my sister may lived at the bottom of denman st with her then husband Terry Berrington who we still are in contact with, My younger sister lived at home with myself and my now Departed mum god bless, They were great times in the 60s plenty to do, Youth clubs I-e Tennison Hall where we use to meet, Skip used to play the Records, Or you could go in the Gym and have a kick about, Sometimes you would get the Hyson Green Lads un Gals come up, Some cracking Lassess would be at the Friday Nite Club had
  6. My first bike was a Royal Enfield super sports 250cc, Wat a bike it was cool looking quite fast, Then I got a Ducatti sports nice bike, Then finally 650 Triumph super bike, Wat speed it did,Most weekends to matlock some fantastic machines parked all along the front great times.

  8. I remember all of those Radfordbabe, Born and bred in Radford, Lived on Boden Street in the 60s.
  9. Gordon was such a caricature so funny at his timing of his jokes, Great times in the 60s 70s, Used to go there with Malc Fretwell (red). Had some good times then.

Back in the 60s those pubs were thriving,You had solo singers bands, Not much trouble the occasional punch up, Anyone Remember Big Sam Foster, Fate anyone great Mr he always looked out for me in my early days. Do a bit of gigging myself these days When I can get them wat with the pubs closing any offers LOL.
  11. Great times Tompa, I remember hartly Rd homes, I was put in Redcot on woodborgh Rd in the early 50s, Then got sent up to durham at a place called The Castle school till I was 16, Bad times then but made up for then in the swinging 60S.

  15. I lived there from 1960 till 1966- got married and lived down Radfordbridge rd, Vane st, then I joined the army, then wen I came out I lived with a friend Malc Fretwell just around the corner off Hartly rd cant remember the name of the street, What was Marilyns surname Melissa.

Hi born and bred in the great radford of the 60s, Everyone knew each other always spoke to each other, There was there was 5or 6 cinemas in radford and Hyson Green. 2or 3 Youth clubs to go dancing, Pleny of pubs clubs with entertaiment good entertainment, A Friend of mine AL-HARPO JAMES, was on the circuit then was very good at his job, He now entertains in America. Some very Pretty Girls in radford too. John Haddow.

We used to live on Boden Street near the bottom, The Corner shop was owned by i think mr- mrs wilkinson grandma to johnny wilkinson, All the local lads used to congregate just above skillies chippy on denman street listening to 60s music great times, Could go on. Geg, and a few others would be there most of the nite, Then before we went in we would get some chips and batter bits from skills chippy it was just a open type shed if you like, Not seen my mates in many a year,

I Lived on Boden Street near the bottom, 2 Nites a week wud go to tennison hall youth clud to meet ya mates, They wud play all the great 60s music had dances with local girls, Other nies it wud be the pictures- Windsor or Capital or Savoy Derby road, Weekends could be the Variety club on Salsbury street- The local pubs,After Time wud go back my sisters house to finish the nite off with there mates great times, Then got married joined the Army did my time, Times had then changed to the 70s.

Also took the baffles out to make it sound more powerful. Quite a few of us Radford bikers used to pop into Slab Square to see if any Mods was there if was ther was some really good banter,Then i had my dream bike 650 boniville.wat days the 60s were.
