My first holiday abroad was also to Lloret de Mar in June 1962. We travelled with Martin Rooks who were then a travel agent for railway employees. We took the boat train to Dover, then the cross travel ferry to Calais, another train to Paris and the over night express sleeper train to the Spanish border. One fantastic experience for an eight year old boy! Aaaah the memories!!
