  9. we made and cooked cottage pie, burgers, pizzas and a stir fry and chicken cuirry. I will have a chat with the whiz kids at work and see about putting the recipes on line for you - I have to admit it I have not tried them on my own. I live in a 2nd floor flat so each time I go out I have two sets of steps so I guess that helps with exercise. I am thinking of going to some afternoon dances too - do I have to wear black tie and medals I wonder? Best wishes Peter
  10. I know I was not bad at snowballs but I don't think I could have got it into your pocket no matter how I tried. I was at the age when we did not do O levels they kicked you out at 15 - glad to see the back of us - although to be fair I was a goody toe shoes as I was made a prefect - best wishes Peter

  12. I regret I was not one of those singers. I do remember we had snowball fights on the playing fields usually at Lunch time. I remember one afternoon a mob of us waiting outside Mundella and as you all came out we bombarded you with snowballed. We were not aware your head teacher had forbidden you to throw any we just thought you couldn't find any snow so us rotten sods just kept throwing them
  13. My sister went to Bentinck school - her name was Valerie Frankland or Armitage. I went for a short time. We lived on Wimbourne Road
  14. I went to Trent Bridge and in the block was the wood and metalwork classes - I was really crap at both things and was kind of pushed to and fro. The Art class was in there too and at one session one of the lads did a nude painting and was marched to see Mr Green the head - he said nudity was a type of art but the art teacher agreed but said the picture was pornographic!!! I seen to think next to the block was a kind of Youth Centre Pop Williams sometimes took Music in
  15. Yeah - I was diagnosed as Type 2 recently and I am one two tablets a day and trying to control my weight. I get a little exercise as I worked part time 16 hours per week. They booked me in at Wasitline and over two months I have managed to lose 4 kilo but have a long way to go. They also sent me on a cookery course at Sure Start. We were all old codgers single men on the course and we cooked portions we could and should eat. One chap ate what he cooked then called in at the chippie on the way home!!!
  16. Hi Ray Yes generous to a fault was Tony - he now lives at Bestwood and we meet up now and again when I can get over from Tamworth. Tony also did a spell as a magician and enterttainer worked at the American Adventure with the Sooty show. I still work 16 hours a week for the Royal Mail - visiting schools, charities, groups helping raise money and giving talks Best wishes Peter

Yes Mick we were all- encouraged to do italic wrting and the school kep[t asking us to buy the Osmeroid pens - I got one forChristmas I remember in Moonfleet a chap called Cracky Jones who was shot in the face. Mr Medley opened the batting for the masters v scholars - he scored 5. The games teacher - Mr Acklam put a £1 on his middle stump and was cl;eaned bowled by a lad called Webber and yes he was given the money. The houses were old boys Bosworth, Lake, Laws and mine which was Pearson there were photos of them in the hall - I wonder what happened to them.
