  1. Standards in public life have declined. These offenders should be horsewhipped!
  2. What we all want to know is the story behind the garish neon sign. Was it a fish and chip shop?
  3. Is Carrie using a pudding basin to cut his hair?
  4. Giving you a 'like' was a bit misplaced. It was more of a recognition of you bringing home the seriousness of the situation.
  5. You can buy ‘Bunny- images of the past’ on Amazon for £20! but the history society website says it can be bought from the local garage for £8. Next time I’m passing I’ll take a sneaky look at it unless someone here beats me to it. I have no reason to otherwise do the 40+ mile round trip!
  6. I have received a reply to my email to to Bunny Local History Society as follows: The house that you refer to is the war time women’s land army hostel ‘Memoires de Ma Mere’. It belonged to a Mrs Roberts and was requisitioned in 1941. To home 28 girls. At some time after the war it was partially rebuilt and remains today as a private home. There is more information in the Bunny village book which can be found in the local library’s. I hope the above is helpful to you. Kind regards Roger Sewell It's a start but doesn't fully answer the query.
  7. @DJ360 Many voted for Johnson because he was marginally less of a pillock than Corbyn. The general standard of politicians today is very poor. Anyone with ability realises that there are higher rewards to be had in industry or the professions.
  8. Mask wearing has just become a token gesture for many people. They just think that having something draped between their ears is sufficient.
  9. There's stupidity on both sides. The government for easing the restrictions and putting the onus on the public to 'take care' and the many people who would not have cared anyway. It's a lose, lose situation. Just watch the 'R' number jump in January.
  10. The government don’t seem keen to relax the Christmas virus moratorium. They’re just passing the onus onto the public to take extra care. I presume this is so that they can put the blame onto the people for the increase in outbreaks in January and say ‘We told you so‘.
  11. I think it was the demolition of Basford flats around 1985.
  12. Viruses mutate all the time. It’s part of the life cycle of a virus. It’s no big deal. It could mutate into something less lethal and it won’t necessarily be unresponsive to the current vaccines.
  13. My email to the history society just disappeared. Sadly the people I knew who lived thereabouts are now up in the sky or wherever you go to.
  14. I certainly remember it as a youngster back in the 50’s and I’m sure it was there for very many years after that.
  15. Hope you’re feeling better soon Ben. From my experience of nurses in my last brief hospital stay I couldn’t get out soon enough!
  16. I too got as far as finding the name of the owner but could get no further. I have emailed the Bunny local history society to see if they have anymore information and will report back if they contact me. Its bugging me now!
  17. I'm amazed your friend didn't see it Lizzie. It was on the LHS as you went into the village, just before the bend. I'm sure the planners wouldn't approve it now. It would be amazing if they did.
  18. Who are they going to blame if they catch covid or does hydroxychloroquine zinc azithromycin really work? I've not seen it in the chemist's yet.
  19. I’ve just seen a video of a bunch of protestors marching from the Forest to presumably the Market Square. It’s strange that they are using umbrellas to protect them from the rain but not masks and distancing to protect them from the virus. Double standards I think.
  20. It’ll prove how dedicated they are.
