  1. A spreadsheet is a document arranged in rows and columns of a grid which can be manipulated and used in calculations. You will probably have Microsoft Excel. It can be as simple as a laundry list or as a complex budget. Maybe something to wile away your time during the present lockdown - perhaps your Christmas card list for a starter.
  2. In my accountancy days, starting around '62, I saw many mainframe computers, which were huge reel to reel machines housed in air conditioned rooms. My first personal computer in industry was an Apple 2, in the early 80's, which I bought because it ran the very first spreadsheet program 'Visicalc'. It was limited in size and function compared to present day PC's but it was revolutionary at the time and reduced my workload tremendously. Although I've got a couple of Macs on my desk, an iMac and a Mac Mini, I tend mainly to use my ipad these days and I haven't had the need to run a complex spread
  3. My first computer involved pushing wooden beads along a metal rail. I must be older than you BK.
  4. They do have the advantage of being 32 times bigger in area and less than half our population.
  5. I went to the doctor once with a sore throat and came out with a vasectomy. Not there and then on his table but he sold the idea to me. I think he was on some sort of commission from the surgeon!
  6. I only wish I could give you a 'like' Brew.
  7. Yes, 'likes' do tend to indicate cliqueyness. I'll not give any likes in future to maintain impartiality!
  8. Well here’s two guys who aren’t in a clique!
  9. I've never witnessed it at first hand myself. All those I come across and know are relatively normal. Perhaps its the circles I move in.
  10. I wish but it wasn't on the Morrison's delivery. I could go to the farm shop I suppose but I'm waiting to hear Bumbling Boris at five.
  11. Boris is now 5pm. Rugby’s more important.
  12. I did eat some again this morning. It was just as disgusting but I'm sure it's doing me good. At least tomorrow will be a break with a full English!
  13. I think he’s related to Jesus.
  14. So that’s what Boris is going to tell us at 4pm. Plausible.
  15. BJ is going to talk to the nation at 4pm. I bet it won’t be good news. Must order more toilet rolls! If we can find the space for any more.
  16. I can agree with your last sentence. On your theory there’s a lot of hullabaloo over nothing too serious. I’m not taking any chances. I’m in the over 70 category so potentially more vulnerable. I’d rather die peacefully at home than gasping for my last breath in the QMC
  17. So alan s you’re saying the truth about Covid is being concealed throughout the world and the ruin to their economies is what they all want. They once used Christianity and the fear of God to control the population. I can only go on what I read and hear through the media although I do know of some people locally who are in isolation. You would seem to have have a better source of information.
  18. Didn’t Brian May use to live thereabouts as well?
  19. Roger Moore was my favourite. There were rumours that he lived in Notts at one time. East Bridgford perhaps?
  20. So all the patients clogging up the hospital beds are just pretending to be ill then?
  21. Nobody’s told him it’s safe to come out!
  22. When times were a bit depressing my father would say ‘this is nothing, we were at war with Germany for seven years’. I wonder if we’ll look back on the present situation similarly?
  23. We all get worries, moments of despair sometimes, but you just sort yourself out and get on with life.
