  1. The people in my village who've installed panels have all been 'oldies'. Some have died already and some are going that way. They never reap the benefits. Take the payback time quoted by the salesman and multiply it by two. Look at the actuarial tables to see how long you've got to live and then work out if you'll ever get into positive territory financially - probably not!
  2. I've not watched the ladies play. I didn't want to be accused of voyeurism!
  3. Charlie Pearce used to live at the top of Catfoot Lane, just off Mapperley Plains, in a bungalow called The Lighthouse. The miniature lighthouse is still there in the middle of the front garden. He emigrated to South Africa around early 60's. His name is still visible from Ilkeston Rd. on the old factory roof.
  4. If that’s the tradesman's entrance you should see the front door!
  5. It’s the words ‘Manning School’ over the entrance which removes all of the guesswork!
  6. I think they evolved to keep the rain and sweat out of our eyes. The older you get the faster they seem to grow!
  7. It’s a sign that someone is talking about you!
  8. My mental age is 65 but my biological age is 56. Do you believe this rubbish?
  9. I did a mental age on line test and it puts me at 65. Not sure to be pleased or not about that!
  10. Three unshaven Corbyn wannabe lookalikes. The tramps round here look less scruffy.
  11. I'd never heard of him until Top Gear. I'm not quite sure what he's supposed to be. Certainly not a comedian. I don't want the programme to be a comedy show. I want to be informed. If I want comedy I come on this site!
  12. When Clarkson and Co were on the programme it was a huge money earner from all around the world. I would imagine, since they have gone, the receipts are much less.
  13. I've not been invited to join the royal family - I'm too common!
  14. I'd like to see Guy Martin with someone else to keep him in check!
  15. I think I knew Susie Fletcher. She worked as a comptometer operator in an accountancy firm. She married Robert Bastow who sadly died at a young age.
  16. I always watch the Antiques Road Show, as being an antique, I have a special interest. I viewedTop Gear on catchup on my iPad, snugly tucked up in bed. I do hope it improves. Sacking Clarkson was huge mistake. I bet worldwide viewing figures have dropped off.
  17. Did anyone watch it? I thought it was a load of childish, puerile, boring rubbish - and I’m a car freak!
  18. Racing on the water when you’re at the helm of an 8 is a tremendous experience. Eight big blokes rowing their guts out. It’s like driving a speedboat but you’ve got to take special care not to clash oars with the opposing crew. You have to shout loud enough to be heard at the far end of the boat - makes you very hoarse after a race!
  19. The only two people I knew from Cotgrave colliery, although I didn’t work there, was Bill Longworth and Ivan McClean. I think both relocated from the northeast.
  20. I’m off to Lincoln to collect my car. They’re all barmy there. It always has to go back after a service to sort out what they’ve cocked up at the service. Three years, three services three returns. Back to German cars I think!
  21. Ok, it's safe to get out of bed then!
  22. I live NE of Redhill. Does that count?
  23. There are people north of Redhill?
  24. Check urban dictionary for definition of Puddy!
