  1. Take his beer away from him Stan... My wells a six inch bore, it goes through 60 feet of clay, that section is lined with a steel pipe, then there is 490 feet going through the Ozark limestone beds. I can use the nearest towns annual water analysis of their well water as a guide to what mine contains. They are obliged by law to have a full test of their water an to publish it annually Stan, right down to the last .008% of whatever. I know mine is loaded with limestone!! Very hard indeed.
  2. Many dentists are totally against Fluoride now Stan, some that have dared speak out have been struck off. Now why would they get struck off for voicing their opinions?? But to protect the cash cow! To me, fluoride is a by product chemical agent of a manufacturing process, chemical agents are not healthy. I'm lucky, in that my water comes from my own well, but if I lived in a city where I had the crap rammed down my throat, then I'd go the bottled water route. The reason lots of north American Cities fluoridate their water is because the law requires them to Stan. It's not volutary, in fa
  3. Seems if "you have enough paid up members of the club" you can invent as much "credible evidence" as you want, and sell it to the gullible people Stan. Check to see what the fluoride industry pay the dental associations every year in grants, is it no wonder it's a sacred cow?? I gave some very credible links on my posts, there is also the Canadian Dental Association who also have serious concerns about the use of Fluoride, a toxic by product of the atomic and aluminum industries, who used to have to get government permission to dispose of of this very dangerous product. I'd have thought the
  4. Here's the US governments own assesments of risks and benefits. Sorry, if the risk is cancer, then I'd sooner lose all my teeth!! USA Report on fluoride.
  5. Even the US's own EPA has voiced serious concern about fluoride in drinking water!! EPA Warning
  6. Here's another investigative site.. Fluoride There's also a professional site of government scientists that has been speaking out against fluoride for years and the harmful effects it has on our bodies, I thought I had it bookmarked. When I find it I'll post the URL. THEY should be listened to, as they represent the worlds most experienced industrial brains on chemistry.
  7. Read Dr Miller's article on fluoride and why no one dares speak out about it! It could shock you! FLUORIDE
  8. Sorry to disagree with you Stan, BUT there is no scientific evidence linking flouride to healthy teeth. There is plenty of scientific evidence linking damaged bone tissue to fluoride and many other health problems. More and more dentists are speaking out on how harmful this industrial waste is to our bodies. The root cause of cavities in teeth are twofold, threefold if you look at poor dental hygene. Refined sugar and refined white flour. Not only are we eating more and more of these "foods", but kids diest seem geared to them these days.. Sodas laced with them, something which we couldn't a
  9. Hmm, I don't recall the Ragmans Daughter, BUT Saturday Night, Sunday Morning was a classic. My cousin Howard, who now resides in Victoria, Australia not too far from Caz, worked at the Raliegh when that was being made, so remembers a lot of the actors who were there at the time.
  10. Not really as outragious as one would think. The UK is pretty seismically active. When I was a young 'un, I recall a large tremor in St Anns, the old St Anns that is. All the windows were rattling and folks were a little nervous too. Having lived in areas of the world where larger quakes occur, believe me they are scary! I was in Sacramento when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit the Bay area in 1989 at around 5-00pm, we felt it that far away. Then when we lived in the Sierra Foothills, we had one that shook the whole house big time, five minutes later it hit Sacramento, I had the live news on
  11. One day shift at Clifton I was in the maingate of 51's, the shotfirer fired the ripping lip, then ran like hell to stop the belt. "Whatsup" said I, a missfire in a round he replied!! How on earth did he pick that up??? All I heard was a large bang, everything sounded OK with me. I used to give the shotfirers a hand charging headings at Marblaegis gypsum mine. NEVER, rub your forehead after handling explosives, unless you want the Mother of all migraines!!
  12. No Edwin Good Bud, CB thats 27 metres, is that a four. Don't you mean it was the old 11 metre ham band Mick?? 27 mhz..
  13. Now there's another coincidennt Q5!! I too moved to Cleveland to work at the Boulby Potash mine, owned mostly by ICI in 1975!! When you lived in Kings Lynn Terrace, I was in the Meadows, off Briar Street. PM your call sign to me.
  14. Wash yer mouth out with carbolic Edwin.. My transceiver cost me 3000bucks, a wee bit more than a cretin band radio..
  15. Thanks Ofive. All my contacts when I was on HF are on bits of paper somewhere, so you'll just have to enlighten me. That was the time I used to have daily scheds with Dave, Fred and a couple of other fellers on 10, or 15 metres.
  16. Just to let you all know, each day brings a little more relief from this nasty disease. My hands are improving to the point that swelling in the fingers is minimal now. As soon as the tendon swelling is gone I should have full use of them again. NEVER be complacent during the tick season either, the UK has the ticks and the disease ready to pounce on those who say it will never happen to them!!! Use insect repellant at all times when in the great outdoors.
  17. Thats the way a feller I worked with changed his 35mm Viet Nam service to video. But you can get a small machine that holds a camera and has a 35mm projector built in Mick.
  18. I recall a few years back now one of our mailmarketing companies used to sell a machine that converts 16mm film to Video, they weren't that expensive either. Do a google Mick.
  19. Much prefer the thermometers Mick, I know they were everywhere when you travelled around the city.
  20. Yep, I'd say your a few years older Stan, I was born in 1947, so don't recall the horrors of the war.
  21. When I was about 13, my Mum got a job with the Lady Bay dry cleaners, and we moved into their new shop on Alfred Street South opposite Agars green grocery corner of BBH and Robin Hood Street. The old shop across the road was closed down. I had a crush on Agars daughter, Jennifer. Years later I worked with old man Agar at Cotgrave colliery where I finsihed my apprenticeship off.
  22. Thats right I recall that thermometer too! I used to live in Kings Lynn Terrace off Turner Street those days. Two up two down, outside bog and coalhouse. Recall the Shaws on Pym Street?? Coal merchant, his son Graham also went to BBH schools with me. One of my Grans lived on Raglan Street off Peas Hill Road, the other lived on Blake Street off Gordon Road.
  23. Hmmm yeh, a year if my still good memory serves me correct.
  24. Anyone recall those?? There was one outside the old Ladybay Cleaners shop at the bottom of Blue Bell Hill. Boy what I'd give for one of those today, I bet they'd be worth a fortune now.
