That's not good nonna but all is not lost. A friend of mine had two vertebrae surgically fused together. Not an ideal solution (restricted his bending and he had to retire), to be honest but it stopped the pain and made his life bearable again. Only you can make the decision which way to go but I wish the best for you.

Co-op had a wallpaper and paint shop about half way up Derby Rd. The manager, can't remember his name, had, putting it politely, a somewhat questionable sense of humour, Back then wallpaper had to be trimmed on a machine, it was never accurate and often produced a wavy edge. Later the edges were 'knock off', you had to hit a hard surface to knock the edges off.

It's true nonna that money isn't everything - now. I would have argued with you about it as a young man and even more so when we had young children .

My daughter, can't remember how old but pre-school, woke me up in the early hours gasping , wheezing and really distressed. Within seconds grabbed out of bed, with most of the bedclothes, in the car and doing a highly illegal to the Children Hospital. Not open, panic... hammer the doors like a maniac till we were let in and some poor sod of a doctor was called only to find said daughter chattering away quite happily, the very picture of health. It seems the cold, moist night air had sorted it out and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

They didn't call it that as far as I can remember. At my school in Sneinton there were the infants and juniors which were divided by a tennis court type fence down the middle of the playground. I was precocious and could read quite well so every day a teacher escorted me through the little gate to the 'big lads school' I hated it and was glad when they saw I was unhappy and let stay with my own age group.

I said on here before I'm glad I did Uni but the driving force that set me on the that course was to make me Mam proud. Was it worth it? hmmm ask me another.. I had no real idea what I wanted to do with my life and still can't decide what to do when I grow up. I went down the Uni route, a good friend went down the pit (Clifton). I was scraping by on £3 a week, he was on £54, I was on a cycle he had a Triumph... At the end of the day when we meet we're just two little old men on a park bench. Was it all worth it? You tell me...

My birthday is Aug 25th. Technically I left school at 14 due to the date. It really pleased my Mam because I got a job the following week but peed me off big time. I had to go to 'night school' for further qualifications and had to wait because I was to young to enrol!... Still not sure it was worth it....

Go for it Col I have done several front and back screen replacements and if you take care getting them off it's relatively easy.

We called them bread or Cob wheels. I have heard them called a 'round' of cobs though
