  1. RIP Ronnie, tonight there will be an extra star, twinkling in the sky, next to Ronnie Barker's
  2. I think they do, years ago I loved red meat but today I cannot stand the site of it. like some other foods, now I eat a lot more fresh vegetables and fish, and frequent a local organic farmers market, here farmers markets are cheaper than in England, because they sell at production price with a little profit. with my wife being French has also helped to change my dirt, I also think it also depends where you live in this world.
  3. I live near Cambrai, half an hour from Belgium there you can walk into a chip shop and there you can get almost every sauce under the sun even mint sauce.
  4. I would have an inward opening door, simply because, an outward opening one could get ripped from your hand in rough winds and storms, and the cost of repairs might be expensive.
  5. Reserved occupation was a bit elastic in WW1. My grandfather was a farmer, but he had to go in the army, they said the reason was he spoke perfect German, and they needed translators, but in exchange the army sent 4 German pow's, so his wife could run the farm with them.
  6. THANKS every one, for the warm welcome
  7. My username is Bri but my real name is Brian, I bet you intelligent lot have worked that out already. I am not from Nottingham itself, but from a village called Langar, but Nottingham was for nights out, and an escape from slow village life in the 60s, 70s and 80s. I am now retired, but used to work as European salesman for John Deere. I married a French woman who still works for Air France as a senior first officer. please be gentle with me, as I am new here, but over the last few weeks, I have been looking at the forum and have grown to like it.
