  10. Carved in the wall March 1947, but surprisingly November 2000 is only around a foot below it, although it would be many millions of gallons to rise by that amount. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.9385749,-1.1372078,3a,90y,286.63h,82.27t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sZ-ZnCD-lK6wmgFZu0eBsrw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

  12. As above, this is what happens when BBC 1 HD goes to the Regions. I assume BBC TV Nottingham studio hasn't been converted to H.D as it's possibly at risk of closure
  13. The Cinema was at the rear of the shops where the car park / offices are now. The entrance to it was where the Car park entrance is now to the right of Giardino, vehicle access is off Parliament St where Pearsons back entrance used to be. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.9546274,-1.1512201,3a,75y,240.41h,96.12t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s66iUStGyJp-jr2uXgTjaSw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.9548126,-1.1523452,3a,90y,138.34h,93.92t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sHs37R8nNJcZYzsPaulkqjg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en

  15. Well, the Committee has gone sat down and had a meeting. They consumed lots of tea and biscuits and mulled over the problem. Then someone had a Brianwave,, why don't we call the Victoria shopping Centre, Victoria Centre so that's what they're going to do. Then they all had another cup of tea and some biscuits and went on their way, happy that they haven't spent thousands on consultants to tell them the obvious. https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/nottingham-news/intu-branding-taken-down-victoria-4734056?fbclid=IwAR1Scyk9FcON8B3TS-dV4A

  18. Canal towpath near Low level station. Gas pipes, that run down the towpath under the rail bridge up to the road bridge at Eastcroft and across the canal to London road and exactly to where ,, don't know. Probably from when Eastcroft gas works site was there and the North sea pipeline was joined into the network at that point. I spotted the pipes on Google the other week when looking at the bridge and towpath crossover, there are markers along the towpath showing the pipeline location.
  19. Phil,, you may be looking at this the wrong way around, chicken and egg etc. It may be that the Vale has humidity / temperature etc that turns out is ideal for mould to propogate and the cheese producers discovered that, hence cheese making became popular there.
  20. Similar view before the bushes were cut down to allow the Artist(s) room to paint.
