    Laws

Only problem PP is that might include a lot of people on this forum who provide ammunition for the rest of us to comment on.

    Laws

Simply make being an idiot a punishable offence.
  3. Brings the question to mind " is the council fit for purpose?"
  4. Good, make an example of him as a warning to others.
  5. Problem is that not only do they expect it on a plate they get it. Menial jobs are beneath them and then they complain about being bored. I have a mate who can't get a job who has this attitude and doesn't want to put himself out. As I have pointed out to him more than once any job is better than no job and pays more than basic dole. If you do not like your job there is nothing stopping you looking for another one but don't jump ship until you get something else. The nanny state culture has got a lot to answer for, a lot of people lose sight of the fact it is their responsibility to support th
  6. Think what a transformation could be made if we could disconnect some of them from their mobile phones.
  7. The other advantage we older ones have is that we know how to economist when needed. Unless they can shove it in the microwave or have it delivered a lot of the younger generation wouldn't be able to feed themselves. Instead of the schools pushing the modern subjects like social studies and dramatic art they would be better off teaching basic human survival and the essentials of life.
  8. It is too easy to write off bad behaviour as having one syndrome or another. It is high time some of the analysts who lumber the normal ones of us with the annoyance of putting up with these brats were analysed themselves. There is no excuse for rank bad behaviour and the sooner it is cracked down on the better.
  9. Couldn't agree more Catfan. That little brat would not be allowed near a tv or computer of any kind for a long time. In the new found leisure time at his disposal he would have severe lessons in behaviour and anger control, not to mention a sore backside. Allowed to continue his current behaviour it is only a matter of time before he gets on the wrong side of the law. Let the dogooders pick the bones out of that one.
  10. Always used to catch my grandma with her eyes shut and mouth open.
  11. Never mind the dogooders complaints, she needed a good slap across the backside.
  12. I see that addiction to video games is now being treated as mental illness. What the hell are we doing to the younger generation? There is no wonder that violence is on the increase when you see the content of these games advertised. Most of it is pure violence and is influencing young minds to the point where they can't tell fact from fiction. When things go pear shaped the cry goes up that they have got one syndrome or another. No wonder if this is the tripe they are watching. It needs curtailing before it causes irreparable damage to society.
  13. The same could be said for a lot of places. I once did a contract job at a well known pork pie manufacturer in Nottingham who shall remain nameless. I have never touched one of their products since. Some of the things I saw were beyond belief.
  14. Barry Austin's was originally Stallards shoe shop, again a popular shop with a lot of Hucknallites.
  15. There was nothing obsequious about Taylders. It was politeness and attention to the customers choice. It was far better than the give us your money, goodbye attitude in a lot of places these days.
  16. Taylders was a superb shop where old fashioned service never ceased. On entering you would be approached by someone with a tape measure hanging around his neck and the question " Can I be of assistance Sir"?" . I visited several times and was extremely satisfied with quality, service and price. It was Hucknall's loss when the shop closed. .
  17. Jedward . Just seen them on Pointless, what a pair of to66ers.
  18. So Heinz are thinking of renaming salad cream as sandwich cream I hear. What a load of twaddle. It has been salad cream for over a hundred years and just because today's youth elect to use it other than on salad it does not mean it needs a new name. There are too many words in the English language that have been hijacked to mean something totally different. Get a life and accept what has been around many years does not need a new name.
  19. Sheer gluttony. Even if it was healthy food that is far too much, and that comes from one who enjoys food.
  20. Know what you mean Catfan, the phrase "can I get" really rubs me up the wrong way. I always feel like saying no you cretin, just place your order and they will get it for you. The younger generation are supposed to be intelligent but a lot of them haven't even got the ability to speak the Queens English properly. So much for modern education.
  21. In a lot of cases I would trust my dogs more than some of the children that I see. I think it is important for kids to be associated with animals from an early age but animals are living creatures and need to be respected as such. Most dogs are only as good as their owner and some of them are questionable to say the least. If an animal feels threatened it will naturally react as most humans would, the secret is to educate kids from an early age with an animal that is friendly. The bond that builds between man and animal is far stronger than human to human and will last a lifetime.
  22. Mine is simply what I was called at school.
  23. Memories of when Nottingham had character. Despite the buildings being old they were a lot better than the modern monstrosities.
