Seeing the activities on the news it just proves that certain members of thhe public are their own worst enemies. In the current situation they are also everybodies elses worst enemy. Covid is not going to go away so we are going to have to modify how we live to cope with it. The sooner people get this into their heads the easier it will be for all of us.

Yes, one of them did appear to be female. In the current trend of equality both would be punished identically in my book. In fact they can count themselves lucky they are not related to me as what the authorities might do to them would be nothing to what I would do.

Saw on the news today a cctv footage of two idiots smashing a defibrilator at a football club. The image seemed clear enough for the authorities to be able to identify them so when they are picked up make an example of them. Before actual punishment they should be made to pay personally for twenty defibrilators as a by the way to redirect their tendancies. It is an absolute disgrace for this to happen and is totally unacceptable behaviour that should not be tolerated. I am not interested in any excuses for their action,they are not fit to be allowed to walk free.

High time it was drilled into these students that history cannot be rewritten, what happened was in the past and cannot be changed. They are at university to be educated not cause disruption and annoy people. Any of them who cause damage to property should be thrown out on their ear. No argument is going to be sold to the masses by the actions of a bunch of louts. To want to remove the Queens portrait is an absolute disgrace and they should be given a very clear message of who is in charge and it is not them. If they don't like it well hard luck. They are little more than children and are supposed to be the future leaders. God help us, I am glad my time will have come before that happens as they do the best impression of the oozlum bird I have seen. Many of them are absolutely clueless and have no idea of what is not acceptable.

Look at it this way BK, if some of those who think they are so clever had to do things that you have done in life would they still think they were clever. I have known people who were fine in their theoretical knowledge but were useless when it came to being practical. Someone once tried a bit of oneupmanship with a friend of mine by sneering he went to university. Without batting an eyelid my friend responded "so did Burgess and Mclean but look how much use they were". Total silence followed. My grandfather was a down to earth type and one of his expressions was " if you are content you are the richest man in the world". It wasn't until I got a bit older that I realised the wisdom of his words. Simply do your best at whatever you do, enjoy what you do as best you can and don't try to be something you are not.

Wait until Gedling have dumped a load more on the doorstep and it will be even worse. Facilities will soon be overwhelmed as all that are built are houses, not infrastructure.

Enjoyed the documentary on Monday about the last flight of the last remaining Vulcan bomber. Although it was designed as a killing machine it was a magnificent sight and much loved by those who had worked with it. I remember it when it was at Rolls Royce at Hucknall and used to come over our house. It was pure white in those days but still an awesome sight.

All smacks of the American love of hype and publicity. Given their track record on racism they would be better thinking before casting aspersions on others. To quote a post on another thread " a closed mouth gathers no foot". I have no issues with the colour of a persons skin or where they come from but can't help thinking along the lines of chips on shoulders.

I remember Archie Stinchcombe at MercurySports. I went there for my first cricket bat after I left school, not expecting the grilling that I got. He stood back from me and eyed me up then announced that he knew just the bat for me. Taking it as a sales pitch I said I wanted to look at several but guess what....... I ended up buying the one he had first presented me with and never regretted it. I can still hear his words of advice as I paid for it, " look after it, don't lend it to any bugger and it will serve you well". It did and so did all the other kit I bought from him.

It's about time the normal ones amongst us told these so called politically correct wannabes where to get off once and for all and revert to the proper English language that we were educated with. The do gooders of this world can't see the damage they have done to society with their screwed up ideas.

I object to being greeted by " can I help you babe?". To start with I am old enough to be the spotty individual's grandad and secondly, if my memory serves me correctly, Babe was a pig. Even if you ignore the greeting and ask a question invariably they have not got a clue about what is being sold.

See the students have been at it again with their partying. Never mind fining them penalties they will never pay, throw them out of university and give them an insite to what a mess the real world is in. They are supposed to be the future leaders of society. God help them, I am glad my day of reckoning will have come before they get in a position to make a real b....s up of everything. They are nothing more than spoilt little brats who need a good dose of discipline.
