  1. Just got in about 20mins ago after seeing the 'Main Man' at the Forum in Melbourne. Bloody awesome. It's been a long time, seeing as the man doesn't like flying. (censored), I'm still buzzing. (Steve, please try and keep expletives off your posts please, we have youngsters reading the forums. Thanks. John)
  2. [Funny isn't it. How the most insignificant of items can be worth a mint 20 years down the track. What do you think I should do with my IKEA flat packs?
  3. Didn't the bridge at the top end of Arkwright street have a Vauxall advert on it?
  4. I've got a promotional 7" of Arnold Lane - Pink Floyd. In mint condition supposed to be worth about AU$2000. Seeing as I've played it to death it looks like it has been used as a frisby for the whole summer at the seaside. C'est la vie. Probably get more for it if I recycled the sleeve.
  5. Yeh, I used to go in there after night school while I was waiting for the Bartons bus back to Beeston. It was a big red building wasn't it?
  6. Great discription Craig. Mine was dark brown, made to measure of course with 3" pocket flaps, 6 buttons on the sleeves, twin 12" vents and 17" paralells. Not forgetting rolled lapels on the jacket. you couldn't be seen with pressed (old man) ones. Bought it from Austin Reeds near the Old Bell Inn. I also had it in the Knock. Perfect. How did you feel on the first outing?
  7. I bought some records from a shop near the Vauxall bridge. Would that have been Selectadisc?
  8. Come on Mick, have you suddenly developed brain fade. The Dragonet is now the Pagoda if that is the one next to the Sherwood rooms.
  9. I was at Peoples from 66-70 on day release from the Raleigh as a Tinsmith (Sheetmetal). The first year we did night school at those huts down at Broad Marsh next to the old bus station and used to go into Towers pub at 1/2 time. I was in the same class as Andy Clifford who I beleive went on eventually run the Bench & Bar.
  10. The hot meat starter in the Noor Jahan was like eating lumps of phosphorus.
  11. You're right Zab, the gay club was called Le Chic. I worked for a for a firm who furnished it 1976. When I did day release at Peoples 66-70 the chinese restaurant was called The Dragonet. We used to go in for a cheap 3 course lunch. Only cost 4/6d. Probably left overs from the night before.
  12. Am I the only one who one who remembers Pink Floyd at the Brit in 67 or 68?
  13. Yeh, found it about 10 minutes after I had posted. Still trying to work me way round this site. Computer idiot. Cheers.
  14. Come on you lot. What about the mighty Colemans on a Sunday night, and sneaking into the Crystal Palace for a pint of Shippo's?
  15. Did the Gibsons own the Beach at one time? Old man Gibson had a white roller.
  16. I'm in. I've got a shoe box full of No 6 fag coupons.
  17. Still got a pair of stainless steel cufflinks in a wooden box. Somehow they don't seem to go with tour tee shirts. Nice bit of nostalgia though.
  18. Not sure. I only saw them at the Beach.
  19. Does anyone remember Robert Hirst and the Big Taste who were regulars at the Beach?
  20. There seems to be no mention of Terry Flynn who I believe used to be on the door of the Dungeon before emigrating to the Beachcomber and then onto the Commodore. I heard he died 6/7 years ago.
