  1. Great photos of parents and grandparents, when despite the hard times standards where the priority, more please if possible.
  2. Your both right many people think things will be back to normal before to long, some are still thinking about holidays late summer. It will be many years before things are "normal" again what ever the normal will be then. We started the lockdown 2 weeks before any one else and in that first period only went out once, up to Curbar Edge where we never went near anyone else. I cannot see us going to crowed places even when allowed until this virus has gone and they have a vaccination that has proven to work. But on the bright side we are both still here and can find plenty of things to do to en
  3. At the next meetup, hope it soon, the wife will let me attend she said I am safe with you lot, we will have to swop stories on medical conditions and medications, lol
  4. I have seen some of your previous projects Beekay , I wish I had your talent, if you have any photos of them post them so Ian Finn and others can see them. Paintings not hernias.
  5. Previous 4 days fed up of pressure washing, today to cold for me so fed up of watching westerns on youtube, roll on warmer weather. then I can spend my day applying sealant to drives and patio, what an exciting life I lead.
  6. So sorry to hear of your loss Sue.
  7. A photo of the canal in use, no idea of the date. the gate House of Wolaton Hall in the back ground.
  8. Sorry to hear of your loss, your memories will last for ever .
  9. DJ and Brew lets not have you two agreeing so much , I really enjoy the banter between your selves and as a bonus it gives me food for thought on how this crazy world we live in works.
  10. Hope you are feeling better soon DJ360 and you are back to your normal self. LL have a couch day and catch up on your sleep , as a poor sleeper myself I know what it feels like with very little sleep.
  11. Love it Jill, if some people would only stop and think of what really matters in life.
  12. A few years ago I dug all the plants out of the garden at the side of the fence and laid fabric down and covered it all in pebbles. This was because it was too much for me to look after, I must have left a few tulips in as they have pushed though the fabric and have multiplied each year.
  13. Happy birthday Sue have a great day.
  14. RobL I had that for my lunch.
  15. Carni have you been secretly spying on me? you are describing me perfectly, it must be this isolation that's causing this problem. I planned so many projects to keep me occupied so now I have no time to do anything, as I am unable to go and purchase items I now need and I am going around in circles unable to decide what it is possible to do next. I think I will sit and watch videos for the next week with large cream cakes. How am I going to get the cream cakes?
  16. Jill you will find me blocking the isle with a trolley because I am instructed, no ordered, to go with the wife and follow her with it. She doesn't drive and refuses to go on the bus and carry all the bags. Same time each Thursday morning and she stops to talk with too bl***dy many people each week. By the time we leave the supermarket and arrive home I am not a nice person to talk to. Have you arrived at the view that I don't care for shopping.
  17. DJ360 I know what you mean my wife is the same, I was greeted with how do I know what I want in 3 weeks time, in the end I ordered what I wanted. I am an impatient stupid old man, but whatever food comes we will be able to eat, which is the most important thing. I have to agree with the wife I hate shopping, I have waited outside shops for what seems a major part of my life. I just don't see the point of looking at things you don't want and have no intention of buying, but then that's the view of a stupid impatient old man who is still carrying out his sentence in the spare bedroom, with a fu
  18. Not enjoying this isolation with the cold weather, but I am grateful I am better off than many others, especially when I can get in the garden. Today as it was too cold for me to go in the garden so I helped with the cleaning ,Mondays is cleaning day, I turned on Spotify and listen to my daily choice. It was a mistake it was all 60s music, and the wife started singing, despite numerous attempts to stop her she didn't. So after seeing numerous mentions of Beethoven on this Forum I turned onto him. I must admit I quite enjoyed it , but someone else didn't. I have had it made abundantly clea
  19. The gate post was the first thing I noticed , terrible to let it get into that state.
  20. Read on another topic how cats rule the world then saw this on another Forum and thought it appropriate to put it on here for Jill and other cat lovers.
  21. I was going to put this on the Joke page until I realised it isn't a joke its a fact. Remember keep smiling and stay safe.
  22. MargieH re your enquiry above if you want I search the internet for a picture for you, but only if you really want to know. lol
  23. Tried to order from Tescos no slots available, so I registered with Morrisons only a few slots available so booked one in three weeks. Many of the items were unavailable, so after reading the posts above I wondered what will I finally receive. But on the brighter side the weather is improving so I will soon be able to spend time in my garden, fed up watching the television.
  24. As more of us appear to be going into Isolation I thought it would be helpful to start this topic so we can all pass on tips or help in isolation and keep it all in one place, rather than mixing up in other topics. If the moderators think it unadvisable please delete. I have tried to keep in the house for the last two weeks but have failed due to the need of a change of scenery , but kept away from people. As for shopping I have been lucky my youngest has been carrying out this task, due to the shortages in shops this is becoming harder. So we are considering home delivery, a quick look
  25. Proper cowboy films from the 50s and 60s on youtube are best for me , I have still not grown up.
