Nice to hear that Uncle Trogg also has a passion for models too.

Just read this Beekay , yes years ago I use to collect them since then we have down sized and now how no room to display them, they have been in the loft for years. Recently I have had them down and now display 6 of the cars we use to have, its all the room we have for them to go. No one in the family wants them so it was back to the loft for them.

The saving grace is that when I pop my cloggs it will be a problem for my family to sort them out and also my sheds and garages.

  2. 4 years ago i purchased a new Audi when it had 800 miles on the clock a van cut me up and put a small dint on my front wing and a mark on the headlight , the other drivers paid for a new head light, £1000, and a new wing . It took them a week to do this and I was loaned a brand new Skoda 4wheel drive SUV ,how much all this cost I hate to think. You are correct this is why insurance rates are so high the garages must enjoy this.

  3. Yes its wind and hail here too, its stopped play today I suppose its housework today. I have just taken my weeks blood pressure readings into the doctors, hope she is now happy with me and no further tablets. I am on 3 different ones a day now, I have told her that its the stress of living at home but she wont believe me.

    PS

I called in Greggs for a bacon baguette and a coffee to take home and sat in front of the fire with them.

  4. My day was going well to start with I loaded my car up and went to the local recycling centre ,I started unloading my car and walking to the first skip and a young gentleman took the items off me and put them into the skip for me, thanked him and went back to my car. Here I took out a bag of tarmac which had hardened off years ago a man came up to me and took it off me, stating thats too heavy for you let me do it, again I thanked him and went home.

When I arrived home I told the wife about it and that I had been helped by 2 very polite men,  I then thought do I really look that old and incapable or was I lucky to meet 2 pleasant and helpful men within minutes.

  5. Can anyone help me , my fruit trees have started budding but the problem is that pigeons have been feasting on these. I have never noticed this before, is it normal as they seem to be at it all day or is it me not paying attention for years.

All this autonomous male with luxury shed malarkey will be putting ideas in young Trogg's head.

I have had a sleeping bag and gas cooker in my shed for years,  I find it a great hiding place when chores need to be done. In fact I find it very relaxing in there, I cannot wait till summer so I can spend more time in there , I did consider putting a window in there but some one would be able to see into it and find me, I feel safe in there as I lock it from the inside.

If you liked the candidate as a person, but didn’t agree with their party politics, which way would you vote ?

I have had that situation before, knowing the Independent candidate   I would have voted for them, but there was no way they would be in the majority party. So I voted for the party most aligned to my views.  Without being the majority Party there is very little chance of much changing.

  8. I made a start on cutting my lawns today I never checked on the batteries first, I have 2 but both were only about half charged ,so it was a case of waiting for them to recharge before finishing the job. I still have one to do but that can wait for another day.

  9. Brew I have been doing all my chores under supervision for years, I always wait till I am told what to do and how . I do know when and how to do these chores but I always wait till I am told , if I started before instructed she might have the impression I like doing these chores. I still like my bit of rebellion even if she does realise it.

  10. Greenwood was also a Bilateral School, I went there in the G Grammar form it also had a T Technical form.  I left at the end of the 4th form, my own choice, as in the June of the 4th year my mother was panicking over purchasing my uniform etc for the next year. 5 of us at home , 5 already left and only I parent, so no one cannot convince me that the financial position of parents does not have an effect on the childrens education.

If I had gone to Padstow just think what I could have learnt from Ben.

  11. The wife is out of Hospital  now after nearly 2 weeks ,she is very weak and in bed or asleep on the settee , I have told her I will bring the ironing to her in her bed. But I am still doing it and all the other housework. I will admit it women are better  organising and doing the housework, Thankyou all for your concern.

PS her problem was something to do with blood veins and her colon.

  12. A couple of weeks ago I posted about having covid after returning from holiday, the after effects are slowly going but that is the least of our problems. On the flight back the wife was coughing and had a pain in her lower stomach and had to have oxygen for the rest of the flight. After a week in bed and antibiotics she was OK, a few days later early in the morning she took ill and was loosing lots of blood , it was an ambulance ride to Hospital. She was in for 9 days on antibiotics . Eventually they decided it was an infection on one of the veins supplying blood to the Colon, she is home now and very weak but quite happy with me doing all the housework and cooking as she has said she trained me well.

  13. I had the same moss problem on one side of my lawn next to a fence, for years it was the same  plenty of moss killer, sand, aerating  and scarifying. When it looked OK it was Autumn and the moss came back with a vengeance so after 20 years of trying it was time to change. I laid sleepers 6 foot from the fence and laid fabric and covered it with blue slate chippings, I then planted a few conifers , barrels with bamboo plants in them and decorative grasses in the slate, now I have to do nothing at all , its great.

We’re staying on the north of the island and have never been before.

Hi I have never stopped in the North but I have driven up there, the north tends to be a bit cooler but still is hot, the landscape is a lot greener than the south.  If you have the chance go up Mount Tedi you will need some warm clothes with you as there is normally snow up there . As the island is duty free cigs and alcohol is cheap, but this time we brought ours on the plane going out and coming back, electricals perfume etc is also cheap. As for face masks I have always been a believer in them and still wear them when near crowds shopping etc but this time they seem to have failed me. I feel sure you will enjoy your selves there.
