    I as there from 1955 to 1959, had some great friends teacher, Mr, Matthews Science, Mr. Houghton English, Mr Spungin Art, Mr Key, Music. Used to walk to Victoria Baths for swimming with Mr Spungin and call at the bakery in Central Market on the way for his bread. Mr Juett was the headmaster. Old pile of a building but what memories

    I was in the Army and used here every Sunday dinnertime when we were stationed in the UK. My mate used to live just down road from there. Used to meet him and his dad and, on occasions, his brother in law who was in the RAF. A few pints and off home for Sunday dinner then back in the evening for "ONE FOR THE ROAD" before driving to Bestwood to pick up another mate and the drive back to camp
