  1. It is being used for over 60’s here although no one else seems to be doing that.
  2. What on earth is going on with the Astrazenca jab? We are told it is fine but everyone else seems to have doubts especially about using it on over 60’s and now it doesn’t work very well with the South African variant if you get a mild case but does if it is more severe (this sounds like the wrong way round to me but what do I know!) It would seem that they cocked up the trials in some way possibly by the demographic of the ages and also the half dose/full dose mistake that happened plus the differing amount of time between the injections which has affected the data from the trials? Both
  3. Yesterday I bit the bulletin and rang about some cockapoo puppies. They are due around the 1st March so won’t be ready until April. I got the answerphone, nearly didn’t leave a message but decided to. A very nice lady rang me back, I was the 3rd she rang and we were on the phone for an hour, she gave me loads of information, answered all my questions and asked me questions about myself, the house and my experience with dogs. It felt like a job interview but showed she cared about the homes her puppies are going to. So I am third on her waiting list. Whilst I was talking to her she had 1
  4. Woke up this morning feeling like someone had hit my arm with a baseball bat after my jab yesterday. Haven’t really had anything else - does this mean it isn’t doing what it should do, whatever that is, or is it just sat in my arm thinking about it?
  5. Dog owners like that really annoy me. You shouldn’t have a dog and then not look after it properly which entails a lot more than just homing and feeding. As Margie said not the dogs fault. I know Dogs Trust are worried that they will get an influx of dogs that have been brought during the lockdowns by people who don’t realise what they entail. Unfortunately they don’t stay as puppies forever.
  6. Just been to The Forest to have my jab. Had to change my mask for a medical one and got straight in, had the Pfizer one I am pleased to say. Waited for 15 minutes and then home. Very efficiently run, only thing missing tea and biscuits while you wait 15 minutes. Well done all the volunteers and the police.
  7. After many tears and much heartache I decided to have a look at puppies on the internet. Although my two beautiful boys can never be replaced I would like another companion to be with me. I was looking for something a bit smaller than my 2 boys, possibly Beagle to Labrador size, but a crossbreed of some sort and only 1 this time. I was flabbergasted at the prices, mostly between £2000 to £3000, some even more than that. I know that demand had gone through the roof since the first lockdown but it was a bit of a shock. Rang about a couple of litters, some only had 1 puppy left so didn’t pur
  8. I have today received an email from the friend I was trying to find thru Nottstalgia. I last posted about her 2 years ago and she answered a few days ago. Apparently we had both been trying to find each other as well as other school friends. It is too many years than I care to remember since I have seen here, we lost touch eventually after leaving school when our career paths took us in different directions. I now have her phone number and we will be ringing each other to catch up (could take some time that) and hopefully when things are better meet up again. Thank you Nottstalgia.
  9. Hi Jill I have sent you a personal message with my email address. It will show up on the banner at the top of the page as a 1 by the bell I think. Just click on the symbol next to it and you will be able to get to it. I thought I had sent it to you a couple of days ago but had forgotten to put heading on it so it wasn’t sent. Oh no Cliff ton not having stories of my misspent youth being aired in public!!
  10. Thank you all for your kind words it is much appreciated. The house is so quiet this morning without my boy.
  11. Tonight I lost my beautiful boy who is now running free with his brother. My heart is broken.
  12. Same here Lizzie. Booked appointment on urging of family yesterday and low and behold letter arrives today. At least I am not jumping the queue, well only by a day!
  13. Had to take Kai back to the vets this morning he wasn’t himself again and hasn’t been eating for a couple of days again, thought the infection might not have cleared up properly. The walk down to the vet was very slow, I was starting to think we wouldn’t make it to be honest. Anyway no infection but the vet has picked up on a heart murmur, which has never been mentioned before, but does explain how tired he has been getting. Got tablets for him, which are enormous, but they have to be given an hour before food which is going to be awkward as he isn’t interested in eating at the moment. He
  14. Booked my vaccination for the 4th Feb at the Forest, got second one in April. Quite easy once I managed to get thru to website. Wonder which one it will be especially as Germany is not recommending the AZ one for anyone over 65. Do they know something we don’t?
  15. Do you have to wait for a letter or can you book at the Forest without one?
  16. Can’t believe the deaths have passed 1000,000 it is just unbelievable. Can anyone else remember Jenny whatsherface saying at the beginning that “testing was for poor countries”? That worked out well didn’t it.
  17. I can remember going to Basford Wakes (I thought it was called Basford Weights!) with a load of friends, Hilda, Margaret, Marlene, Janet and Linda (some good old fashioned names there).Music was Del Shannon Runaway and Runaround Sue, Chris Montez Lets Dance. Staying on the waltzer until we could hardly stand we were so dizzy and some vomited. Lots of giggling and eyeing up the lads both local and fair workersHappy days of a misspent youth!!!!!!
  18. From what I can remember wasn’t the Sneinton accent very distinctive? I can remember working with a girl who came from there and her accent was quite broad, although it is a long time ago and I might be wrong.
  19. I would say it appears the government made the right choice (for a change) In not joining in with the EU procurement of vaccines, at the time they were castigated for not doing so. Due to the present situation in Europe over the vaccines (or lack of) it seems it was a wise choice to “go it alone” as it were. Perhaps if they had been quicker in passing the vaccines they wouldn’t be in this position, they did insinuate that we were too quick and hadn’t done the necessary checks and they were going to do it “properly” at the time. Chickens and roost comes to mind along with toys and pram. Just
  20. Just read an article in Nottinghamshirelive about Nottingham sayings, the most famous being “ey up mi duck”. There was one I didn’t recognise, just wondered how many other people know what they mean: Dobby Mardy Manky Nowt Summat Tint/Dint Mi-sen Gizza Twitchell Nesh Cob Gorra bag on - never heard this one myself Dinna/snap bit obvious this one, snap was used in South Yorkshire by miners to describe the sandwiches they took down t’pit. Tautuzz
  21. Just walked Kai round the block today, he’s not impressed with the snow it won’t make proper snowballs they just disintegrate when thrown. Obviously the “wrong” kind of snow. It was quite entertaining watching the cars on the side roads, the back ends were all over the place made sure we kept our distance. Cars still having a bit of difficulty getting up the hill in front of my house, luckily there are council workmen at the top doing something or other where it is steep who have helped out a bit.
  22. Roads must be getting bad, just watched a car being pushed up the hill outside my house. Dreading letting Kai out later he won’t want to come back in!
  23. I am so envious of you (in a good way) having the vaccine. Don’t know when I will get mine, I am in the 4th tier, over 70’s. Nottingham doesn’t seem to be doing well in the jab stakes, supply problems or not.
  24. Not impressed by any of the present lot so will have to see. Not sure about the local ones either after the mess the city council have got Nottingham Into.
