  1. You'll have to come and visit me Ben, for an espresso, down at Princess Royal hospital, in Haywards Heath. I'll pay for it and even throw in a custard cream .
  2. Morning Caroline, welcome back.
  3. Oz, do you remember the Guiness advert with the bird... "If one Guiness is good for you, imagine what Toucan do".

  5. Jim Davison reckons it wasn't Oprah but Ian Wright in a wig !
  6. It's not us that are old Brenda. It's all those other buggers are too young.
  7. Telling Margie she is 8 months older than me. Just realised, I'll be 78 this year. Bugger! I've just made me day. Booked in for Thorseby Hall Notts. for Dec 10th. Hopefully, we should be alright before then.
  8. Hey ! Just thought that makes you 8 months older than me. Glad you got my J.L. card.x
  9. I'm only sorry I didn't go to BGS. Seems I missed out on a fun time. Bugger ! Missed the boat again.
  10. Annswabey, you could well have caught me bus at one time. I remained at Bilborough Depot until late 1967. That's when I moved to Weller engineering on Wigman Road (just below the drillhall), but I only stayed for 6 weeks as I couldn't manage on 5/9d per hour. So I buggered off to Smith Dennis on Berridge Road. The rest...history.
  11. SG, you caught me bus and never said hello. No wonder I've got a persecution complex and a feeling of rejection.
  12. Makes my 2.5hp Seagull look a bit sick.
  13. Forget me question 2 posts up Jill. I've just seen on telly who she is.
  14. I cut me photography teeth on a Zenith E slr. I'm still the proud owner of a Russian Lubitel TLR camera. Still got some 120mm film in me freezer.
  15. Don't know about me mum's divi number but mine, opened in 1964 is/was 188762. Don't know if it's still valid, as we don't have a co-op anywhere near us.
  16. Oz, if your reading this (ya don't need glasses,) Any way I clicked on YouTube search and got the battle straight away. Just for interest, the Houghton Weavers did it and Tom Baker, who's a local lad. Edit..King Harold stood on Senlac field and yelled, "Here! Watch what yer doing with that bow n arra', ya could have somebody's eye out" !
  17. Coincidence that mate ! My missus used to work on a whaler. It was the "Pequod".
  18. I can vouch for that Phil. Last time we went it were a few hundred quid just for the two of us. I used to tell folks that we don't go any more, as the tow harness is digging into wifeys shoulders We must get one with an engine in ! Nearer the truth though is she won't drive the boat and nowadays she finds the locks difficult. Would love to go again but it would have to be with a crew. Wouldn't matter if they were novices.
  19. Who knows Fairlad, your reference to catching the 56 at the terminus, it's quite possible I could have been your driver, as I was on NCT about that time. Welcome to Nottstalgia.
  20. I was thinking of coal for a stove, servicing, blacking the Hull, sacrificial anodes, lift outs for surveys, fare wear and tear that are an ongoing thing. New batteries every 3or4 years, reprints...and the list can go on.
  21. Ben, you've posted without a y.t clip. You'll be getting withdrawal symptoms.
