  18. Statue celebrates football legend Brian Clough began his football career with Middlesbrough The family of Brian Clough will be unveiling a statue of the football legend in his home town later. Standing in Middlesbrough's Albert Park, the 7ft bronze figure shows the town's hero as a 24-year-old with his boots slung over his shoulder. At that time he lived in nearby Valley Road and passed through the park on his way to the club's former ground. The former player and manager, who became an OBE, died of cancer in 2004, aged 69.
