  1. Just come across this, went to AVCPS 1953(?) left in July 1959. Loved it there, moved on to Arnold County High when it opened and hated it! Lots of memories of teachers names and other pupils, anyone interested? BTW, Mr Naylor was the head throughout this time. Remember Mrs Hatter (1st Class), also Dobbs, Keates, Ma Lockwood, Turner, Tilley. More will come to mind I'm sure. Ken Keates was an ex Liverpool reserves footballer and ran the school team, we took all before us particularly in the 58/59 season, still have photos. Mr Archer (Archie) was the caretaker, he was the Arnold St. Mary'
  2. Reading this has got the brain cells working, I can remember a number of the inmates of Form 1F. Roger Smith, Geoff Smith, Geoff Whittle, Martin Wells, Stephen Wood, Pat Walker, Valerie Yarwood, Pat Winnett, Jean Walker - there must have been more!! Any of them out there still or anyone out there remember these or more? Good times well remembered
  3. Hi I was one of the original 1F inmates. We all had surnames at the latter end of the alphabet. I remember you Cynthia also a lot of the others in that class. Mr Flint was the form master. We all started in Sept 1959 when the school first opened, some from the class went off to Rushcliffe and elsewhere as the new schools opened
