Any one remember KenClarke from the club.

I see mention of Jack Packham in the above post. There was a Jack Packham who was manager/licencee of the Piccadilly Club in Bulwell in the late 1970’s. Don’t know if it’s the same man but the club had a ‘iffy’ reputation.

I was a regular visitor to the Piccadilly Club in the late 60s. Even did a few Discos for them. Never saw any bother.. but the anaemic looking microwaved pies were a challenge.. I don't recall the name of the manager at the time but I'll check with my 'sources'..

You can’t really tell stories about The Piccadilly Club without naming names? My Dad was picked up & taken in a roller & told he was now running show ..... which he declined, he kept his fingers, well some of them, in a little box -

Likewise, Bulwell crews used the Piccadilly Club after a grueling late on a Saturday. ! I once kicked 2 drunks off one night & later bumped into them in the Piccadilly Club, all was well they even bought me a pint !

For a long time ben the house building stopped for some reason & only about half a dozen or so new houses had been built. Must have restarted the building program. Spent many happy hours in the Piccadilly Club next door after finishing a late on a Saturday night many a time ! You're spot on there of course Rog about the rails, cheaper option than keep forking out for new windows that don't come cheap ! The orange revolving flashing beacons on my wagon were regularly ripped off by tree branches too.

Reg Guest was my all-time favourite, I was lucky because he played regularly at the Piccadilly Club in Bulwell Nottingham which was walking distance from where I live. It was actually the Reg Guest trio, he had a bass player named Dave and a drummer who, If I recall was named Clancy. More to follow

Disappearing Petrol Stations
catfan replied to Cliff Ton's topic in Pete's Nottingham Transport Forum
Bulwell Motor Company, Piccadilly Bulwell, now sadly gone. So has the Piccadilly Club to the left. Also had a petrol pump outside with an enormous hose to reach the road. We finished a late shift on the buses & then into the club for a few beers ! https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.995201,-1.189128,3a,75y,294.86h,92.78t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sKZfH5lNtXTCH4EczyvAlFw!2e0?hl=en -

Hiya everyone, found this site by accident, but was amazed. A forum dedicated purely to Nottingham, what a great idea! A bit about me, well I'm 40, was born in Hyson Green, moved to Radford, where I lived till I was 16, briefly went to Lenton (say briefly, thought I was in love lol, but then who doesn't at 16), back home to Radford, onto Alfreton Road, then settled in Carlton. Have family from Aspley & St. Annes. I know OF radfordred, met you a few times when I went in the Variety club with my dad. He once or twice 'worked the door' there, when Bob De Prose (sp) was manager and Bern
