    I've been using Legacy Family Tree Deluxe V5 for many years and wondered whether to change to something different/better/more modern. A bit of browsing for freeware has pointed me towards Gramps (open source) or Family Tree Builder (not to be confused with Ancestry's discontinued Family Tree Maker). Any experience out there of either of these? Feel free to suggest other free programmes though I hesitate to ask "which is best" as we are naturally biased towards something that we have/use/like.

    If any of you out there are interested in aspects of 19th century Nottingham, you may like a book I've just written. it's called 'The Story of Brewer Jack & Champagne Charlie' and deals with their lives as 'sporting men' of Old Nottingham. It's interesting and informative. Anybody interested - let me know. Criseliz

    Hello all, just discovered this interesting site so signed up today. Moved away from Nottingham some 30 years ago, now living in deepest Lincolnshire. Only have occasional visits a few times a year to see Forest play. First every match was in 1961, stood at the old Bridgford End. Lived in Clifton 1955 - 1970, West Bridgford 1970 - 1980.
