.... 23
One of the great lyricists had died. Hal David, famous for his partnership with Burth Bacharach passed away on September 1st aged 91. Who can forget those timeless songs, I Say a Little Prayer, Do you Know the Way To San Jose? and Raindrops Keep Fallin' on my Head. Magic stuff. Rest in Peace, Hal. jackson 301
Hal David, a long life; I shed a tear with the news of his passing. Such a Creative and Dedicated force during his time on Earth; 'Wishin' and Hopin' Hal, you'll have the chance to be as Creative in Heaven. Looking back to the Sixties and the Full Flowering of Bacharach and David: Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Cilla Black and Sandie Shaw clamoured for a chance to sing their compositions. Many thanks to Hal for his participation in such beautiful songs; 'Wishin' and Hopin' and 'A House is Not a Home' being my favourites. Thank you for the music Hal, God Bless. Ayupmeducks 1,730
He always said his best song was Alfie!!! The world of music would have been poorer without Hal David and Burt Bacharach. They wrote some of the best 60's music.
