It was a pain in the Ass and thats a fact!

I do monthly backups but that missing month had some excellent posts and many new members and they were likely to be lost.

Then when I restored backup in new hosting the excellent posts built up over two days these would have been overwritten and lost with the restoration of the database up to the crash. We lost two days 15-17 October but recovered and restored the database including posts and new members Sept/October.

I did copy the most useful posts and six new members from our temporary return 15-17 Oct, but now have to find the file.

Our new hosts were extremely helpful, our old hosts not so. They are still down by the way!

And thanks for your comments... This problem showed up at a time we are moving house! So that's why house moves are so stressful?
