An Ilkeston man who faced charges of having sex with a horse has died.

Peter Coulby, of Hillingdon Drive, Ilkeston, was charged with four counts of having sex with a living animal between February 1 and June 6 last year.

He was also charged with four counts of possessing extreme pornography on June 5.

Police were called to a property in Breaston Lane, Risley, on June 6 last year following reports of a man acting suspiciously in a field. A man was arrested nearby.

A spokesman for Bhatia Best Solicitors has confirmed that Mr Coulby died last night.

He said: “We can confirm sadly he passed away last night. We believe he died at the Queen’s Medical Centre. Our sympathies go out to his family.”

The Bhatia Best spokesman said Mr Coulby had never been convicted under the charges he faced and proceedings against him were at the plea and directions stage.

The case was due to be heard at Nottingham Crown Court tomorrow.

Heard this news earlier today. He had been unable to attend court yesterday as he was unwell and taken to the Queens Medical Centre.

You have to feel sorry for what this fellow's family have gone through. What a shocking chain of events.

Anyway, back on topic. The best thing to do in Ilkeston is pack your bags and leave.

Sorry if there are any Ilkestonians on here.
