Where was this building?

Recommended Posts

We've done this before, and maybe this will be easy (for one poster at least on here that I can think of certainly!) But can anybody place where this building was?

Note the window frames only removed, not demolition?

Conversion to Dwellings?

My first thought were Mapperly Hospital.

I had also thought initially of Mapperly, perhaps the lower part of the hospital overlooking the "playing fields" where the garden party was held?

Apparently pulled down to build a detention centre for young offenders in 2004? (Is there a detention centre for young offenders in Calverton?) Used to be a copper dome on top of the tower.

I remember seeing the copper dome driving in towards Nottingham years ago on the Ollerton Road.

Its not a detention centre, Its a medium secure psyciatric hospital now, I used to work there. Always wondered wheat the old building looked like.

Next Building please :)

Let's have a go. Not sure if this will be too easy or too hard but it's a Nottingham city centre building, still very much in existence this time.

Thanks Stu

And well done Trevor :)

I would never have known that.

Next Building please :)

This one might not be too difficult. It still exists and was occupied by a prominent local person.
