Posting Images from www.flickr.com

Recommended Posts

Thought the picture would come onto the forum - something else I have to learn how to do.

I'm a newbie here and it took a bit of messing about to make an image load on a Nottstalgia page too .

Basically you need to select the image you want in your flickr photostream , then right click it .

A dialogue should come up that says .

"This photo is All Rights Reserved" but then below that is a choice of image sizes "medium 500" etc . Click on the size you want .

Then right click on that image and a menu should come up .

Select the very bottom one called "properties". This should bring up the file details of the image .

Here you should see a part that says "address (URL)" and your file that ends in ".jpg"

You need to highlight this by left clicking and scrolling over , so the whole file name turns blue

Then right click and "save" and then "paste" into the image dialogue box on Nottstalgia .

Phew !

  • 2 months later...

Flickr seems to have changed its site since I last tried to upload a picture .

It now seems to be slightly easier to post pictures from there on to Nottstalgia .

You now select the image you want from your photostream , right click on it and select the size you want displayed .

When that pops up , right click again and select "Copy Image URL" from the menu .

Then "paste" into the image box on the Nottstalgia "reply" section as before . It's right as long as the file name ends in .jpg

Jobs a good 'un !

New system just starting to run on Flickr. It now gives none pro users a free terabyte of space.

Only problem being , I can't get it to open my photos, I can get the home page but when I click on the link to 'My Photostream' it just tells me it took too long to respond and to try later !

Bit of a piss take if you've just forked out $20 to renew you pro subscription !

Perhaps the site is under pressure from people checking the updated site out . Took an age to upload the last 2 , low quality car photos I linked to from here . Hopefully it will settle down soon :)

Got in to it last night after about an hour !!

AND I DON'T LIKE IT ONE BIT

It's far too hard to find your 'photostream' which used to pop up in front of you immediately,

I don't have anything popping up immediately in front of me nowadays.......unfortunately

On the opening page just click the "You" from the top menu and your photostream should be the first option .

Just tried it a minute ago and it works fine . I like it better , all the images are displayed in a much better format without having to scroll through tiny thumbnails .

No ,!!!!

I didn't think of doing that !!!.......................... slywink

What I said was, it used to be there in front of you when you logged in . Now you have to faff around looking for it. !
In my humble opinion "If it ain't broke , don't fix it !!"

I'm also pretty glad I managed to suss out how to get 'pro' for free, (As a BT subscriber you get it for nowt, although they deny all knowledge of this!)
