There was, and still is, a lot of kerfuffle about the MMR vaccine, the TB and Polio jabs and now CV-19. There s no such thing as 100% safe, someone somewhere will have an adverse reaction and start a

Can you remember the iron lung? which was used when children had Polio. Measles was an  highly infectious viral disease causing a red rash, mostley in children and could lead to serious complications.

Modern disorders in Kids include 'Eating Disorders' We never had those because we were poor and lucky to get a good meal every day.

I never had a single vaccination for anything when I was a kid - and I'm still here!

There is no verifiable evidence of any sort of widespread harm caused by properly tested and approved vaccines and it is certain that they have saved far more lives than they have taken.

Graveyards are full of people who died from 'mild' illnesses.

2016 rise in cases of measles  in the UK .  Rise is because take-up of the MMR  vaccine has fallen since 2016 it means that the uk has now lost its measles-free status.

I had most of the childhood illness's  but the one I can still remember is Whooping cough i can remember the hacking cough followed by a high in take of breath .

My next door's little girl was rushed to hospital a few years ago, she had Chicken pox and in stead of the spots coming out the turned in-wards she nearly lost her life.

So if vaccine's help eradicate this disease and others I am all for it.

Just one question  how many of you will turn down the jab for Coronavirus when you are offerd it?

@mary1947

I remember having chicken pox - I picked off one of the spots and still have a little scar to prove it.  I had only a mild dose of it but my brother (who was moaning because he still had to go to school) caught it off me and developed loads of spots in his mouth, head  and even eyelids.  My mum told me I  had whooping cough when I was a baby and that I was very poorly.

I will certainly be having the vaccine when I’m offered it!

The problem is how are they going to get it to all the doddery old people? Not including myself of course!

Ask Amazon to deliver it!   :rolleyes:

Be interesting to see if us over 80's get the jab this year. My grandson, who is an ambulance driver for high dependency patients, visits care homes daily but he tells me that he and other front line workers are not on the list until all of us oldies have been done. I certainly don't feel like a priority case but I'll take it when offered.

I thought they had priority, yesterday they said here that the queen and prince Philip were going to be first.
