I always wanted to be an orphan when I was young, because you got to go on the Sunday School outings for free! I also read a lot of Enid Blyton books about adventures at boarding schools and was sure

When people hear my nickname 'Chulla' for the first time they invariably ask how it came about - it happened twice at one of the Nottstalgia meet-ups. It comes from schoolboy silliness back in 1953

I used to know the reason why I chose this name buraffergorritt

Bubblewrap given to me when I was a security guard about 13v years a go.

I have a genetical problem called Neurofibromatosis which causes lumps to form

My body is covered & slighty resembles a mole infestation

This I think was intended to be a joke but I that I could turn this one round :)

I chose it because I have always been a natural blonde and I was called Blondie at school.............I am 69 now and still blonde, runs in my family..................My hubby went to Crane School in the 1950's and was called Titch................

I once knew a bloke called Fred from Basford, he lived on Egypt Road, we had a shop on Nottingham Road, we bought it from Gordon Ingham who was there for years before us.............

I've been called many names during my career as an electrician in mining, many can't be printed....LOL I could have registered "Pommie John" that's what they called me at my last pit down under, or just Pom.

I just used the old Nottm salutation, nobody else had registered under it.

#53& 52. It always was Chulla for me - some people used to mis-hear and call me Chilla. Incidentally, a correction; our family name should, by the laws of genealogy be Weet, not Newton. Newton was the other Victorian black sheep.

I sort of struggle with the 5 string banjo. A looooong learning curve, for me anyway being a lefty playing right hand, or trying to.

  • 1 year later...

Mine was derived from a compliment paid to me by a good friend some time ago.

I don't know whether it still applies!
