Cliff Ton 10,464
Another sign of the times.......if you do a Google search for DOMINO, the first few pages of results are entirely about pizzas. It's a long way down the list before you get to the black-and-white things with dots.

DJ360 6,728
I well remember the Home Ales Dominoes in the Bestwood Hotel, Bestwood Colliery when my Grandparents had it. Just seeing the pic above brought back the smell of the bar and the sound of the 'dommy's' shuffling on the table. My Dad went to great trouble back in the 1960s, to get hold of a set of those Dominoes, but without the Home Ales logo. He eventually got a set, complete with the little brass 'rivets' on the playing side and all in a nice slide top wooden box. I have no idea what happened to them. Dominoes is still quite popular up here in the Grand Duchy of Billinge, but being uncouth Northerners, they play up to double nines. It's similar with Darts TBH, we always played off 6 foot when I worralad, but everywhere else they need a run up like Steve Backley to get the dart into the board.
