Were you at Softees when it was managed by Don Fleming and his wife Mary?
FLY2 10,108
Yes, they were a strange couple but friendly in different ways. Mid to late 60's. I often got lumbered with taking her to hospital as she was a bit sickly at times. Great times.

benjamin1945 16,112
#67 that 2nd pic. must have been late 30s Cliff,...........i remember houses on the right in the 50s and i think late 40s,on the left whwere the trees are was a massive field that rose up to what is Gainsford crescent, and was the site of my 1st school, commonly known as the 'Huts' later to become 'High Pavement'. The whole site was known to us locals as 'Back Wall'...........it was our Wembley,City ground,Meadow lane,Trent bridge and Lords, and once HP was built we were 'Trespasses'..........which made no difference whatsoever. davep5491 360
FLY2 #86 I used to help my dad maintain the fleet after school and at weekends, early 60s. Sunday lunch at the Balloon with the Flemings, and a few drivers, they lived on Renfrew Drive Wollaton. Had 2 nice looking daughters, I blonde a good looking female version of Don and the other dark haired a bit like Mary. As they had just arrived in Nottingham I had the pleasure of escorting the blonde ( I wish I could remember her name) around Nottingham for a while.

Gibbo 04 188
#77 benjamin 1945. My Mum's maiden name was Larcombe. My Grandparents were Arthur and Hilda and my Mum's siblings are: Keith, Gwen, Susan and Lynn. My Aunty Lynn still lives in my Grandparents home though I haven't visited for many years. I spent many a happy day playing with my sister and cousins near bottom shops when we all visited on a Saturday afternoon, spending our threepenny bits given to us by our ' Aunty Edie ', my Grandmas next door neighbour....
