I saw on the news today that one chap had 2000 sand bags around his house ....... Multiply that by the number of houses affected and it's millions of tonnes of sand. plantfit 7,597 Posted February 15, 2014 Report Share Posted February 15, 2014 it comes from the sand and gravels quarry's that's dotted around the country, mainly in the river valley's such as Trent valley, soar valley etc, we are a small sand and gravel quarry out in Lincolnshire and in the last 5 months we have accumulated over 32.000 tonnes of soft sand and over 4000 tonnes of sharp sand this is not including the sales so there is plenty of the stuff about Rog Quote Link to post Share on other sites
